Don't worry if your laptop will fit in the safe. Keep it put away when you have company and when you are out of the room. i've stayed at SL and Castillo and have never had a problem. If you are really worried about it leave it home so you can relax and have a good time!!!

to answer your question it might be possible at an angle, these are the same mini safes most hotels have. would be nice to have larger ones for laptops etc. but hey the devices keep getting smaller so...

Ken, Felicidad is a good room at the Sportsmen....had a great trip staying there. All the chicas have to pass bye and the noise is no big deal.....the clip clop of heels is sweet music.

As for the safes, they are standard hotel size about eight to ten inches wide and about six deep. Will fit all your cash, documents such as passport and tickets, and your small camera and watch. If you are worried about a laptop, I just stash mine in my luggage at night and lock it up there after I go to sleep if a girl is staying over. Never had a problem with any of the girls at the Sportsmen.

My first trip I did an experiment and put one girl in the room and told her I would be back in a few hours and paid a bar maid to watch her while I was gone. Let the girl hang at the room and drink while I went to the DR. Came back, everything was cool, she was wasted and kept her end of the deal. Had a great time ending up after sex in a naked pillow fight with feathers flying everywhere...LOL...all that for 80.00 plus 20 for the bar maid. My trust in the sportsmen girls is total. I have had great service ever since from the other girls and the staff. I am sure they all talked about it while the experiment was going on and afterwards.

Thanks for the info. I am not worried about the chicas. I was concerned when I was not in the room and they come in to clean the room and there is my Ipad! Anyone had any problems with the maids stealing things from the room?

Also, I will be there on a Wednesday and Thursday evening the end of September. How many girls are usually there on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon or evening? When is the best time when more girls would be present?

Between 15-20 girls during the day. 30-40 girls at night. More SL girls will start coming in around 6pm-7pm. After 10:30pm many of the girls leave to go to Key Largo.

tip the house keeper's a buck or whatever a day and make their acquaintence, even a simple hola, may be different one's on different days. it may have saved me in june at si. left my charger under the desk. went to quepos. realized i left it. called si. connected me to housekeeping. yep, they had it. had my reg from sj go get it and put it on the bus to quepos. had it the next day. i have always left my notebook on my desk there and never had a problem. the only other place i stay is apartotel lasabana --not chica friendly--never a problem.

we have read different results in different hotels in the gulch on this board.

Going slightly off topic here---however---"Tip the Housekeeper" is KEY here. I ALWAYS tip them at the SL and I tip them well. They are GOOD people and have NEVER felt uncomfortable leaving my laptop or camera in open view if I'm away for awhile. They do a GREAT job there.

I try to tip the housekeepers $2 a day or so. And am always nice to them, smile, say Hola, como estas senora. I've never had anything taken by housekeeping. The chicas are another matter entirely. Lock your shit up. I've had my cologne stolen three times cause I kept forgetting to lock it up.

The maids are very good ( I thank them daily in Spanish whenever I see them) and I have never had a problem there. I also leave a tip for them on a daily basis and I don't think Bill would, for any reason, allow any theft in maid service to happen at the SL.
The SL is a top notch, tier one hotel in service and staff!!!
