If I check in online, do I still have to stand in line to turn in my suitcase at SJO? Is there a checked-in online line?

I used USAIR from SJO two years ago, and there was no special line. The ticket counter issued me a fresh boarding pass, too.

That's a real shocker that SJO makes you stand in line for an hour even though you are already checked in.

Anyway, looks like I'll be forced to stay in CR 2-3 days longer. Dammit!!!!

not so with TACA. I check in on line and go directly to security and then the gate. But, I only have carry on.

In this scenario , at what point do they take your Exit tax paper ?

Here's the way it works with Taca at SJO:

There is a small podium as you enter the check-in line. There is always an employee there.
If you are checked-in, and have no bags, he/she will take your exit tax and stamp it. You can then go towards security.
If you have a bag to check, he/she will direct you to the biz class/online check-in line. You don't have to stand in the big line.

There is a WEB CHECK-IN line at SJO for US Air.

I'm stuck in Charlotte. They say they can get me out on Tuesday. Yeah, I can probably walk home before then.

Yeah. I would have gladly stayed a couple more days, but apparently, US Air only flies SJO-CLT once a week now, on Sundays, according to them. They offered for me to stay till their next flight out, 9/4 (8 days). So, I had to get out of Dodge. From CLT, I was supposed to go to Harrisburg, PA, the closest they could get me to home. But when we landed in CLT, we found out that that flight was canceled last night too. So I'm "enjoying" my second day in Charlotte. I'm getting home tomorrow evening, but not until I pay a visit to Boston.

Orange, say it isn't so! No more saturday flights for US Air?! I usually take the saturday one back from SJO in case they miss the connection in Charlotte, like they did the last time around. That way I'm sure to make it back to work monday.
