I'm thinking about buying a jucuzzi off my bedroom. I'm getting conflicting info from friends having inground and above ground versions. I'm looking for some advice from this group.(no need to tell stories about adventures) Recommendations would be appreciated.

Here is one listed on Craigslist for $5000. 8 feet x 12 feet , probably too big.

I just gave one away. I played golf at Cariari with a guy who owns a store in Escazu that sells them. I would get an above ground one because when you get tried of it you can get rid of it.

I had an above ground (they call it a "portable" ) spa at my old house for years - worked well; I'd say go for it - in S FL they are well below 5k but no idea what they get for them in CR.

(Bet the water will resemble egg drop soup after you use it with a few friends   :P   )

If off your bedroom means inside, three issues, removing it, chlorine smell and water supply. If outside, in ground is nice because it looks better but mainly ease of getting in and out. Just design it so that the power/pump access panel/door is easy to get to as well as the hose drain connector, and a plan for what you will do with the spot if you do pull it out. also, go 220 rather than 110, heats alot faster, most of the new ones go either way.Lastly, if it's just going to be you and another most of the time, get the smallest one you can, cheaper, and cheaper to heat and maintain. I have Baja Sportub model for 7 years, says for 4, really 3 at best,2 fine. Works for me.

Thanks for the help. I just realized that I have another problem. To bring an above ground type I would have to get it thru 2 6 foot sliders and 2 normal size doors. Basically it can't be done. I think I am limited to someone building an inground for me.Anyone have any recommendations for me

VB, do you know if you have the extra capacity/power available in your electric panel?

I know more than a few people who have used a crane for this.

I would appreciate the name and/number of places where they could build an underground one.
