Working on the Spanish.
I have a very high end laptop and the girls I've brought over have all oohed and ahhed over it. It makes me a little nervous. I've heard ticos can be very inventive about getting around gates and security guards if given enough incentive.
Thanks about the tip on farmers markets.
Working on my Spanish, going to sign up at Costa Rica Language Academy soon and give up on teaching myself from books.
Getting bored of my favoritas. That's my problem, after about the tenth session it feels like I'm married and been there done that starts to sink in.
I have enough money to swing stays at the SL, and I like the frat house adventure atmosphere of the SL. I can swing stays there at least two or three weekends a month.
Left my hats in the USA in my storage unit. I'll probably bring them on my next visit, but will only wear them when mongering, not when I'm trying to blend in.
A move - never mind to a foreign country, where language is an issue - is a lot to process. I wish you the very best with it - and think you are making many of the right moves; learning Spanish being a great idea.
Just an observation: I get the impression that you might be a guy who better enjoys CR as a vacation vs a permanent place to live. Freely admit I could be wrong

Do finances permit a place in the USA in addition to CR?
Also - lock up or hide the computer; its not like you have the "Star of India" diamond in your apartment - I'd never pay for a room (like at the Sportsmans) if I were paying for an apartment - again, that's just me.
Final rant on how you should live your life

- as long as you conduct yourself as a gentleman, I would not give a Phuck what some stupid chica thinks or says about me (or you in this case) - believe me - the fact that (in another thread) you did not wait past a half hour; well good for you, you did the right thing. Next time show up w/in 15 min's of the appointment - problem solved.
Look, you have to do it your way, I don't live there - I know for a fact that one long time member of CRT, a CR resident, has a rep for being cheap - big phucking deal, its not like he is reduced to jerking off and can't get female companionship.
I thnk you need to meet more good guys, they exist in CR, fill your days with positive activities, and w/in 6 months you are going to be really happy you made the move.
PS Leave the hats in storage permanently!
