Call them and ask why you can't pay a deposit and pay the rest by credit card when you get there - like any normal resort. You'll get some lame excuses from a guy who sounds like a mafia car salesman. I predict that if you do fall for it, he'll have thousands of your dollars, and you find out when you get there that you've been had. Then what are you going to do? Go to the police? Sue him? When you do find out you've been scammed, post it on ripoffreport.com. I suspect this ripoff artist will have a new site up and running soon after word gets around.

Ok, here's the scoop: There's this guy who calls himself Mike Smith (probably not his real name), who is good at creating websites and getting them to come up in google. travelersdigest.com & globalfantasies.com are his main sites, but there are others. He finds local people in various sex destinations who can put together sex vacation packages as cheap as possible to take care of the travelers he sends over. Most of the locals operators don't know how to do the internet marketing, so he fills that niche. With the outrageous rates "Mike Smith" charges, he's obviously making a nice chunk of profit. The local guys who deal with the clients may try to make some extra money with upcharges. The story "Smith" tells the local operators and what he tells the clients is not exactly the same. Result: An overpriced vacation package that over-promises and under-delivers. Smith wants all his money before you see anything because once you know what you can get for your money, you won't want to pay him and he loses control. My guess is he can't accept credit cards because he can't get any merchant accounts with credit card companies because of excessive chargebacks. Even if he did take credit cards, people do chargebacks when they get screwed, so he wouldn't make any money. I also suspect he is "sue proof" and doesn't use his real name, and you couldn't find him if you wanted to serve him with a lawsuit. If anybody has some firsthand experience, it would be great to post some names & contact info of some of the local operators so other travelers can deal direct instead of getting screwed by middlemen like "Smith".

I am one of the dim wits who fell for his scam. CR Virgin has him pegged right on. I paid an outrageous fee up front and each time I wanted to go he would come up with some lame excuses about how he lost contact with the local person who ran the business, or a pissed off client where the provider wouldn't give him what he expected and now wasn't a good time to go, or the length of stay would have to be shorten due to the cost, or the place is full of sand fleas at the time I wanted to go or the rates went up since I made the deposit and I would have to pay more. Seemed to be one excuse after another and he eventually kept my deposit saying that I waited too long. Others may of had a great time with what he provided, I didn't.
