Got ya I suspect we are in full agreement And I don't know whats more annoying - the situation itself or those who endorse it.

Although proper behavior and dress make it somewhat more tolerable. Saw a couple at the hotel for a couple of days this week. Obvious he was there with a working girl and he was probly a good 30 years older. She was pretty classy looking and had good manners. He was low key and not wearing any garish clothing.

Situation you described does make it more tolerable; but others still notice and mark the situation for what it is

I've noticed when I take my fav to the same restaurant several times and tip very excessive that my quality of service improves.
It kind of puts my fav and the waiter on the same playing field....pleasing me for more money!

My feeling is I have to do the "Monkey Dance" for 45-50 year old Gringas in the states, while also picking up the check, so why the "F' would I want to do that in SJ after I have already paid the toll and nailed the Deb? Paying the toll takes away any bother from having to entertain someone in order to get a piece. Sorry, but the fundamental rules of dating in the States should not be applied to a good to great situation in CR, but by all means, everyone is free to do as they please.
