It's not always simply the age difference either. I was at the Balcon de Europa my last trip, and a few oldish gringos came in with some seriously hot local talent. I was on the other side of the room, but could hear the guys joking among themselves - loudly talking about the girls as being "undercover agents" and "in international relations", etc. and laughing uproariously like they were actually being witty. As far as I could tell they still got great service from the staff, but I can definitely see something similar happening somewhere else and result very differently.

Break, I don't know how old you are - but I've known for YEARS that the vast majority of guys who think they are sooooo funny are most often not - Many guys, especially those who want to "show off" a pretty girl (never mind the fact that she would go w/ just about anyone for a meal and $80 - 100 for other things) are just jag offs. These guys thought they were really funny but in reality, were pathetic.

They don't realize that in their shorts, ugly shirt, smelly leather sandals that its all about the money; the ladies are not really attracted to the smell of smegma eminating from them, nor are they attracted to anything other than the food and/or the money - its obvious they could not communicate much w/ these girls, so my question would be why bother

The waiter they probably had is excellent - I've had my up's and downs w/ the food at Balcon - but never the service.

How many times in the gulch or an eatery or at the beach or worse down the hall at your hotel at 0200 do you see/hear these jerks? Too often but what can you do? In this situation I have no problem with mngmt giving them the boot.

The other thing that irks me is when jerks of this ilk grope a passing girl at the DR or get one surrounded at the bar and then all mess around with her, you know "can you handle his" ha ha ha. First time in CR.

Agree w/ you Hank 100% - on this issue, I'm between "to each his own" and "its your money and time; spend it how you wish" - and - you are a jack off if you take a "working girl" out for a meal - lets face it - there is likely a language barrier, an age barrier, an education barrier, as well as a cultural one - so why bother?

On the other hand.....

No one honesly thinks its your novia (they are laughing at you - hell, I'm laughing at you - Hank's laughing at you - ticos are laughing at you - almost everyone on CRT is laughing at you ).

I'd like someone to answer the question why, if you take 'em out but there are the barriers mentioned above - I'm not speaking about favoritas/repetas, no language issues - just the average guy that makes a practice of taking out a working girl for meals right after he met her - I'm curious what the guy gets out of it - b/c its likely not stimulating conversation w/ a person you cannot communicate with, w/ a 6th grade education, 1/3rd your age.

Anyone care to comment if you are a "take 'em out for a meal kind of guy"

For all the reasons so cogently mentioned above, I've never taken a Chica out to a meal (well, okay I once took a lady of 40 or so with passable English to Chelles--she knew all the staff and some other patrons by name), but have no problem buying a light repast in lieu of a drink at the Del Mar for someone I already somewhat know. A fresh Chica?--as they said above, what's the point?

I had allredy been with 2 chicas and was hungry... Some random chica is giving me the hard sell

Most of these chicas will be impressed if you take them to KFC or McD's.

The Del Mar is probably the best place to take your just-met chica for dinner (or breakfast). I suppose though that the Balcon de Europa. being that close to the HDR, is used to seeing gringos and their putas as well. Forget the real high-end places, no one will be impressed buy you.

Phuck em! Throw them a biscuit or some crackers in the corner after you shag em..

Nope, ain't one of them; the other problem these gentlemen cause is when you are with a regular chick and they try and treat her like a Del Rey Deb ; to me its all about enjoying yourself, so if you are one of these guys that wants to take a DR Deb out and spend a hundred bucks on a meal while you communicate with her at a very rudimentary level, by all means, have at it. And you are quite correct, the waiters, other clientele are likely going to have you and her be the topic of conversation pretty much for the entire time you are eating. they are going to talk about how old the guy is, how she is dressed, what he must have to pay her.

I am not sure I would enjoy that, therefore, I would rather go to dinner with a brother from another mother and talk about the chicks were gonna nail.

Not the case Tim - in CR, this behavior has a lot of folks - Ticos, Americans - looking at the guy in question and thinking he's a jack off.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a live and let live kind of guy - but wish someone would tell me why, aside from the obvious pretty girl on your arm syndrome, why bother?
