Re the original question - for what the OP describes, its a casual meeting - meet somewhere else if you don't want to meet at Sportsmans (I hear the Hotel Del Rey is centrally located and has a nice bar - try there ) - seriously, plenty of places in SJ - wanna get out of the gulch entirely - try the Jazz Cafe, not too far from the University in San Pedro - cabs know the place - nice, great music, and not far - problem solved

PS In all likelihood, no one else is going to give a shit what someone else does, who someone else brings in, sits with, talks with, etc - no one will even know - the OP's question was about the reputation of the Sportsmans.

I have taken my favorita to the SL several times to watch games ect. she has always been treated with respect, and never hassled at the door. It doesn't take the other chicas long to figure out the situation. Just don't spend too much time in the head or she will probably be propositioned ten times before you get back. It's good for thier ego not to mention if you are under sixty you will look young in there.
