Just heard they hired Scott V. who used to work at Hotel M as GM of Restaurant and Bar. I have know Scott for a couple of years and if they will let him, he will do a good job. Always has had a real can do attitude. Just have to wait and see - my guess is they are really starting to miss BKTuna and alot of CRT patronage.

Peace, Love, and happiness for all

Are multi-millionaries choosing that 2.5 star?

Scott is a good guy, I almost hate to see him get in at Dunn Inn. I do know he won't tolerate ripping off the customers. He tried to do a good job at Hotel M despite being at war with Michelle constantly.

I have never stepped foot in the Dunn Inn and don't know the owners (so no argument from me as to quality of people and or service available). I know and like Boyd from meeting him many times at the SL and from the reports on the board - he was treated badly. Scott is a great guy and I know he is excited about the opportunity. I hope he get's a chance to do the job and create the environment he is capable of (If not he will be miserable and it won't last long).

Just spoke with Scott - his first day was today and he is busting his ass. If nothing else, his enthusiasm alone should improve things.

Peace,

Just checked into the Dunn Inn today, and the place is awesome as usual. The best in Barrio Amon. The Staff is great, the food is better than ever, the rooms and facilities have always been superb. Guy is a great guy and old time hippee like myself. I love the place!!!

Great description of Scott - an old hippee!

I'd been semi-defensive of the DI after enjoying a stay last winter, until today that is. A small deal but they screwed me over and are off my list, adios Done Inn.

PacoLoco, sorry to hear your bad experiences by you and others at the DI. So far I have been lucky, but if that changes, then on to somewhere else. Like DEVO once said FREEDOM OF CHOICE! You are right, Scott V seems like a great guy!

Paco - what did they screw you on? - so the rest of us should be on the lookout?

Peace,

+1

I am friends with both Scott and Boyd -- both fine gentlemen.

Out of loyalty to BK I won't stay at the Done Inn; however I will certainly stop by the sports bar to say hello to Scott the next time I'm in town.

as is the case anywhere else in the world.....hotels come and go.

who cares if a guy got screwed? shiit happens all the time. sometimes for reasons that make sense to peckerwoods....other times said shiit makes no sense at all. what do i care as long as the shiit don't hit me? That's the CRT way...... God Bless America on July 4, 2011.

and....for the haters.....the one's that post anyway.....how many times you ever stayed at the Dunn Inn anyway???? The few haters who post never spent a dime in the joint, for the most part, in the first place. The place advertises and pays for same here on CRT. That keeps the joint (here) running. If you don't like the Dunn Inn, don't go there. If you have an actual reason for NOT going, so state....but it IS getting pretty tired of reading posters who haven't spent dime one there who "hate" the joint. "Solidarity">>???!!! hahahahahahahahhahahaha.....what a bunch of posing wannabees. Sit down and shut up.

Also, there was and is a REASON why Mr. Zunbake3 was compelled to book at the Dunn Inn and, yet, Mr. BKTUNA never weighed in on "why>>>>?????". If you want, I'll tell you why. Send me a PM and I do a Ricky Ricardo just for YOU and 'splain it' to you. Zunbake3 is too much a good guy to dump on the message board. 8) :P

Steven1,

I contacted Zunbake3 directly to offer compensation for the reservation slipup. Basically he was nice enough to book the Clarion through me. When they got closed, I posted it as soon as I knew, but at their request waited a few days to see if they would re-open before contacting open reservations except the onesfor that week. This had happened twice in the past for three day closures. In that time Zunbake found out they were closed before I directly contacted him and he was due in the following week. I apologized and offered to compensate him for the inconvenience. He has not to date taken me up on that offer but it still stands. I certainly am not infallible and in retrospect would have contacted not only the clients immediately affected but all open reservations. I hope this clears up your allusions to something sinister.

As to the hotel this thread is about, I have never suggested anyone not stay there. All should stay where they are comfortable, welcome and receive good value.

Bktuna:

I have NO beef with with you (other than your damn titty twisters@@@@!!!!)....and am not going into details on this specific and particular matter, unless, of course, YOU give me full license to do same.

Let's just leave it at the fact that had I not informed Zunbake3 that Clarion was CLOSED....he would have arrived into SJO; taken a cab to Clarion; and found it closed. Nobody else troubled themselves to inform Zunbake3 that Clarion had been SHUT DOWN (he wasn't monitoring the Clarion closure thread; why would he???).

See......everybody picks and chooses which threads and such they're gonna monitor on this web site......

Bktuna has been nothing but a swell guy to me (except for the titty twisting!!!!)....and that's how it remains with me....

THAT is what I call a "brotherhood"....just because one guy don't give you the 411....doesn't mean another bro don't give it to you......as long as you got that 411 BEFORE your trip....all is good....right?....... 8)
