Hey guys...I appreciate the help. First time in SJ and will be staying the SL for 3 nights. I goofed and actually needed a 4th night before I take off for the ocean and surf and more women in Jaco. I need the ocean...just do. I am staying at SL....but I need another night as I goofed. Should I just stay at SL...maybe they will give me the 20% and there is a solid Happy Hour there.....or do I stay at HLH and enjoy the $35 ladies? Please help.....also could use laundry by then.....Thanks. NYC Newbie

Depends on what dates your trip is planned as to how many people may be on the waiting list but at the last minute all the people on the waiting list will have made other reservations so that may be when you get notified that a room has become available for you. You should call and ask them to add you to the waiting list. I'd also keep asking each day your here pushing it to the last morning.

If you don't get it, then someone will have a room Freebird, Hotel Little Havana , Amisted, Castillo, ETC with the Sleep Inn as a VERY LAST RESORT backup plan.

So you are going to forgo a an additional 10% discount at the SL? With a 4 night stay at SL you get 20% off slow season discount.

pluses at LA they will do your laundry and free breakfast.

The dealbreaker for me at LA is the Phucking train that runs right next to the hotel. It blows it's horn repeatedly as early as 0530am.

I party late and sleep late therefore the LA will not work for me. It's a shame because it is a nice hotel with great service.

Train noise on weekends is noticeably less due to reduced weekend schedule. If your there during the week plan on sleeping with ear plugs or rising early.

Many of the hotels have noise of one type or another. If its not a train, its street noise, the klick klack of hooker heels in the hallway or the bang bang sounds of your neighbor at 3:00AM :x :x

I always wear earplugs.

Well, let me know if they finally replaced the manhole cover on the sewer in front of LA. Damn near fell down that hole my last visit there and I already broke my ankle once last year... don't need it happening again when I am back in August :)

I gave up the idea of jogging anywhere in San Jose. Between the sidewalk hazards, the roaming dogs, and the crazy drivers it can be a dangerous proposition.
