A fire that broke out after midnight destroys the famous Hotel Del Rey and the casino next door.
The fire apparently started at the Colonial Casino then spread to other buildings on the block.

There were no immediate reports of any deaths but many were suffering from smoke inhalation and had to be taken to the hospital.
The fire department was totally incapable to handle such a large blaze as told by one owner of the hotel.
There were no comments by San Jose officials.

There were hundreds of worried and angry people in the street some wearing nothing more than a blanket.

The fire consumed most of the block and the heat, fire and smoke could be seen for miles.
It took firemen all night to extinguish the blaze and smoke was still coming out at 6:00 am
One employee said " this is the worst thing that she has ever seen and does not know what she is going to do."

It's a complete loss but we will rebuild said the owner.

Look at it this way guy's; the bar will be rebuilt twice the size it was before the fire and the chair's by the window's will be replaced with all leather arm chairs for all the ageing CRT member's........ 8)

I knew this was a Joke the minute I saw the CR Fire Department show up. I didn't think they had an organized fire department. Maybe an all volunteer Tica squad.

Don't worry dudes..since I have to have a place to celebrate my birthday, with my quick thinking, I enlisted all the beggars, the shoe shine guy and gave them 1,000 colones each to help put out the fire. The delrey hotel passed out water buckets and they got the fire out with in a couple minutes. :lol: :lol: 8)
