Guys hands down it Doc Browns in La Sabana. 25 meters south of AM PM. The burger is the best in Costa Rica. The owner says he gets the meat freshly twice a week. And he gets his rolls in Escazu. The bath room are clean and they use good napkins. It's as close to a good American burger you can find in this country.

Doc Browns is OK. Burger is on the small side (too small for the bun), but tasty nevertheless. The fries are great, best in CR.

Around 2500 colones. You could take the bus from Coca Cola and get off when you see the AM/PM on the south side of Sabana Park. The route is one of the Escazu ones that leave from calle 16 at Coca Cola. Make sure you ask the driver if the bus is the Anonos one as the other routes use the auto pista not the Sabana Sur road. Fare is 270 colones.

If you unsure of taking the bus you could take a taxi there and then take the bus back. The bus stop in in front of new condo they are building next to AM/PM.

The best deal in SJ right now is at McDonalds. Triple meat, Bacon Cheeseburger 1050 Colons. Across 3RD Ave, from the post office. .

McDonalds in the Gulch was torn down won't be reopenened for at least another year. Can you imagine how much they are losing.

I am sure, if you try them, you will agree they are the best burgers in San Jose. They are no different then the ones in the USA. Try one first!

This thread is about the BEST not the CHEAPEST burger.

That is all I can say about that otherwise I might find myself agreeing with CVCap.  :P

I guess as with chicas, ymmv. Haven't had a memorable burger in SJ in many moons. I remember way back in the day when I stayed at the Del Rey, I ordered burgers there so I could use room service and remember enjoying them more than any others in the city. Now, I had quite a few acceptable burgers, but have always satisfied my burger craving in Jaco. And since it is an occasional treat for me, I don't really care the price if good.

Nice try editing your post but the PM I sent you contained a quote of your original post. If you want to contest that just ask the Admin to let me release the PM.

Anyone who says a McDonald's burgers the best in San Jose is truly delusional.

ID, you seem to be in alot of fights. Take a deep breath and settle down here please. Final warning. And yes, release the PM.

I thought Seahawk was dilusional the first time I saw him in a vintage Seahawks starter jacket.

When you become the Admin you can issue "final warnings" and have the authority to authorize the publication of PRIVATE MESSAGES!
