ok guys I bothered you with nonsense why you moving out now lets play opposite game--why you staying in USA and I will start with myself.
I live in Miami area and my house cost me 300$ a month plus electric plus food; yes, panocha is expensive.
Lousy apartment anywhere in the world will cost me 600$, yes, panocha will be 50 bucks, but you cannot beat climate and comfort in Florida.

I wish. It is cold or HOT. Here in Sabana Sur Costa Rica, it is a constant 75 degree give or take just a little, 62-82.

I have lived 25 years in Miami and over 7 in San Jose. Not even a close call San Jose weather is far better then South Florida IMO. In Miami had to use a/c from May to Nov. and every couple of years had to use the heater 1 or 2 nights. In San Jose do not even have an a/c or heater in the casa. Not necessary in La Sabana.

If you are only paying $300 a month then you must own your home free and clear so it's not a fair comparison since you could sell your home in Miami buy a nice place in San Jose and still have plenty of cash to invest for a monthly income. So instead of paying $300 you could be making money with the proceeds and still living in a nice home.

Don't forget to invest in some barbed wire and window bars.

why I live here and not there-- I can leave my house unlocked ( but gun safe is locked) with keys in my cars, when I am in SJ with no worries. Do not have to prepay for gas, and the joy of waking up to the sounds of bear trying to get out of my fenced yard, he forgot how he got in. Strangers who will stop and offer help if you are parked on the side of the road. Grouse to keep my dog happy. No poisoness snakes or bugs ( that's a real biggie for me). and Nothing in the water that will eat me.

Rural Pennsylvania:

Four beautiful seasons.

Reasonably inexpensive to live here.

Safe and secure...no bars, no concertina wire. If you dial 911 for help, you know you will get it. No need to constantly keep up your guard with people trying to pull off some petty scam.

I can drive no more than one and one half hours in any direction and find anything I want or need [within reason].

Only drawback......no pu*sy. :( That's why I take the trips to Costa Rica. :) After a month of that, the novelty of it has usually worn off, then it's time to get on the 'magic carpet' and head back home.
