Right on.
Bill & Boyd get it. Both great guys.
If either reads this post, the winner hires youryenny massage girl @Di.
She is top shelf!

If you hire her please post it on the board.

Find it interesting how passionate people can be about hotels. After Jazz mentioned Tripadvisor I went there and read some reviews of hotels. Seems like that people are either cheerleaders or are extremely angry. Many of the hotels had opposite reviews right next to each other. One claims it is the biggest shit hole they have ever been in and the next is cheery and the best hotel they've ever seen. For this reason I always like to get various opinions from different sources. TA has so many agendas on it that you really have to know how to read it to make heads or tails of things...

Third world, you are so right.
It's confusing sometimes.
I'm not unhappy with the Di current management. Guy & Dan are great people.
They need a job and an opportunity to succeeded.
The bartener tatianna was great. The massage girl youryenny was great.
The owners or powers at be have understaff'd the place and scared the staff into a position that they cannot make the hard calls w/o fear of losing their jobs and that will not work.
Employees must have the power and if the bottomline is in the red, then and only then, changes must happen.

TA can be helpful but you do have to wade through a lot of BS. I've read about hotels contacting the author of a bad review on TA and offering them compensation if they remove the review. For other destinations I've used TA and come across several glowing recommendations mixed in with terrible ones and the great reviews all seemed to use the same writing style and grammatical mistakes, or the good reviews referred to the owner or manager by name and say how wonderful of a person they were.

A few days ago I looked at the latest TA reviews for DI and noticed about 3 reviews on the first page that were all made by first time posters which all gave TA's version of 5-star reviews, and most seemed to mention Guy G. by name and how great he was.

I hate to disappoint all the critics of the Dunn Inn but they will do just fine with "normal, everyday tourists" and not miss CRT nor Boyd a bit

Not true--the owners made a calculated decision to excise eco-tourists to give greater play to Our Crowd.
Sure seemed that way with the focus on gambling and working girls!

For the purposes of the overwhelming majority on CRT, the reviews of hotels on this board trump Trip Advisor anytime.

For example, the hotel El Grano del Oro gets outstanding reviews on TA (and is a great place w/ a good res't) - but unless you are visiting with your wife or mother, I'd never recommend the place, if you know what I mean

I too support Boyd. Has anyone there noticed a drop in the business at DI?

Nothing special about the place regardless of who is managing it.
