Only reason I ask, I have a buddy that has been to SJ before.. But I think he just said that because he has been trying to talk me out of going to SJ and go to Sousa instead.. I really dont like the looks of the girls in DR....

You'll be fine. As long as you don't act like the typical "ugly american", you should have nothing to worry about. Just go and enjoy yourself, and don't sweat the small stuff. Once you're there, everything will fall into place.

My first post was just being sarcastic or funny . It's been so slow around here lately.

This has been covered here before regarding Costa Rica and Medellin. The answer is that the vast majority of the girls are NOT prejudice. They like clean guys that are well groomed and don't smell. They do not like the mountain climber, beach bum, smelly tree hugger type.

There are a very few girls under the impression that black guys have huge dicks but that can be quickly discussed either way. I have had friends here that always disclose what the girl is getting into before they go.

In 5+ years I have not seen any prejudice except some girls don't want to go with local guys as they think they may not pay.

So, in closing, this should not be any concern at all here.

Go where you want to go and have a good time. And if you come here, please post here after wards as to what you experienced.

Interesting story to add...

Was sitting at the bar at the Blue Marlin one night with a friend who is black. I'm white. Two chicas walk up and one chats me up and the other goes to my buddy.

The girl talking to me said she loves white guys and isn't attracted to black guys, but her friend (talking to my friend) loves black men. Everyone wins

I think this was preference, not prejudice, just like I'm more attracted to Jessica Alba than I am to Jessica Biel. Both women are beautiful, but I have a preference.

Unfortunately prejudice and racism are alive and well in many parts of the world, but hopefully we don't see it in Costa Rica.

Exactly! For example:
1) They are very prejudice against smelly guys or anything unhygienic.
2) ...against guys that start negotiating at $20 or obviously cheap in general
3) ...against guys that are rude/loud/disrespectful
4) ...against guys that live here
5) ...against certain nationalities (like the well documented Tica vs. Nica problem)

And perhaps the most interesting prejudice I've heard perhaps more than any is against YOUNGER guys! Have been told straight up by numerous chicas they don't want to go with a 20-35 year old guy because it is too much work

I agree 100% that the girls prefer a clean, well-groomed and mature caballero over a slob or loudmouth. That pretty much applies to women everywhere.

Ha ha, I'm 36 and I could tell the girls there weren't used to working as hard as they did with me...they all earned every centivo with me.
