Did anybody else watch this? It was comical.

They found the worst looking 100 Colombianas and presented them to 10 desperate losers.

There was only 1 very good looking woman that they showed on camera. The one that the creepy old guy was trying to hook up with. She was 20 years old, he was like 65. The look on her face was priceless, she was so uncomfortable.

BTW-Lisa Ling is not hot.

I wanted to watch the program, but couldn't, because it came on at the same time as my favorite program......DETROIT 187.

Several years ago, one of these popular foreign bride organizations was meeting on Friday nights at one of our favorite gulch hotels, in the restaurant/bar area. For us mongering gringos staying at the hotel, it was comical watching these gringos who were fresh off the plane from places like "Bumblebee Hollow, Minnesota," and who had paid a lot of money for these trips.......with their high hopes off latching onto a prospective Latina bride. It didn't take long for these fellows to catch on to the routine of us mongerers.........renting by the hour. Soon, they were doing the same.

That's why God invented Tivo. (Detroit 187 is a great show, I recorded it while watching the online brides comedy.)

Yeah.....I know, but I don't have Tivo. I still use the old big box TV.

I didn't see the show but let me guess the storyline.

-The man is a socially awkward guy with no friends who dresses poorly.
-Since he cant get a women back home, he travels to a third world poverty stricken country to find some young uneducated woman to bring back
-Colombia is a war zone with frequent sounds of gunfire in the background heard throughout the show
-Woman lives in poor conditions with chickens roaming around the yard.
-Man decides to marry woman after the first date and bring her back home.
-Fast forward 1 year where we learn that the woman left the man 2 weeks after she arrived in the USA never to be heard from again.

Can anyone think of any stereotypes that I may have missed?

I don't know about DISH.....I'm on Comcast Cable. However, the program is on the OWN network [Oprah Winfrey's new network] if this is any help.

Nope.
Actually it focused on mainly one guy and it was emphasized that the guy thought of himself as an average nice guy.
He apparently could get women back home, he was previously married twice. also his pick was not young but 40 years old, and I forget whether they talked about her education but she seemed pretty smart, even witty.
No war zone footage or gunfire.
The women lived in decent places with roofs and walls and no chickens (but perhaps with relatives).
I think they got engaged after a month.

I thought the show was very well done and quite fair to all parties. I felt very sorry for Karen. What a cutie in a crap situation. I am not sure if it was just the editing but did anyone else who watched notice how after she introduced herself in her best English the guys response to the translator was "Are we moving on"? Did not even really acknowledge her. I wanted to reach through the tv and beat the sheit out of him.

The level of commitment. HDR crowd is willing to commit for an hour to an overnight. The foreign brides group is on a lifetime program.
