I was wondering if anyone has information about the gym's in the HDR and SL in regards to what equipment is there to work out with, condition of gym, and possibly even hours that is open. I know it's a vacation but I still like to get a workout in while I am there. Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

i can give you a bit of info on the SL gym. basically its stationary bikes and a treadmill for cardio. dumbells and a universal cable/press setup and a pair of perfect pushups if those are still there. never been to the the DR gym.
there is a better one in san jose but you pay more too. have not seen an eliptical anywhere in CR if you like those.
SL hours probably 9ish to 6ish but it is there for hotel guests as far as i know.

Last time I checked, SL was allowing non-guests the use of the gym for a nominal fee.

You also can check out Dunn Inn. Turns out that they have a gym here as well, which is pretty nice here and free tp hotel guests. I did not know about it til this morning when I was reviewing the handbook they have in the hotel room and noted that offering.

The SL gym machines are probably still in brand new condition. Are they even unwrapped?

There are many gyms in SJO with ellipiticals as well. Boyd showed me one down the main street downtown (Tiendas descuentos) and I once used one near the Sabana Sur called Fitsimmons. All quite adequate
