I've been wondering about this for a long time. Isn't there a bar directly off of the SJO runway on the opposite side of the terminal? Every time I land, I notice this thing with a big Imperial sign hanging on the side. Am I losing my mind (again) or is there really one out there?

There is a bar/restaurant on the south side of the runway. Use to be a great spot to wait to meet someone. Just wait until you saw their plane land, finish your beer, drive over to the terminal and pick them up. Now they made it so you can not go west when you get to the auto pista. You have to go east until you can use the overpass by Intel to get going westbound. Still doable not as convenient as before.

Hey, thanks. I want to check it out cause I'm kind of an aviation buff anyway. It will be a little more difficult to convince my friends who all think planes are just buses with wings.

As ID said, still there and open, but not as easy to get to as it used to be. When I retire to CR (5 years) my plan is to sit over there during the day and watch all the losers leaving and the happy fucks arriving.

Hey I'll join you. We can play a drinking game. One of us downs a shot ever time we hear a WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO and the other downs a shot every time we hear uncontrolled sobbing.
