As I stated in another thread, my friend and I were victims of the owners overbooking. Don't get me wrong, just like many people here, I also do love most of the staff at DI. They are very courteous, kind, and always welcomed me with warm smile. Also, the place had a good potential catering different groups of tourists including CRT and other groups. I believe Guy is trying hard to fill BK's shoes.
However, I do have to say that the owners are either very shady and/or really bad business people. As a customer, lugging a suitcase on Super Bowl Sunday to another hotel is not fun to say the least. We chose a different hotel since an owner tried to move us to Clarion (which charged $25 guest fee prior to BK being a consultant there). They really don't even have much clue about their competition in the area either. Was it intentional, simple mistake, or mixture of both? I can't give you a definitive answer, but when I saw other people also are in the same predicament (not just 1 or 2, but closer to 10), I do have to wonder what their intentions were from the beginning.
I know this is not the DI's side of the story, but this is another side of the story from a very loyal customer.
