also maybe get the the Fast Pass ( forgot the real name) to go to the head of the line at immigration, They then do a complete investigation and if you get that then they should for the most part stop bothering you. And if you do not get the pass, then can ask them why and find out whats on your papers. Unless it just your turn as one guy told me the agent said to him and you are betting the odds, then I by some lottery tickets...

Also do not be afraid to look the agent in the eye when you answer questions, looking away is a sing they look for, being really nervous, fidgety or cowardliness towards them may be is tipping them off to maybe to ask more questions, but granted getting taken down several times could really make one nervous, kind of a chicken and egg problem... and real criminals are good at that game

Then again you could be lucky and some body is using your name or has used your name to commit some bad deeds and it got stuck on your record -- so I ask them next time, and tell them why your asking...multiple trips to Room 101 and they never find any thing so WHY

I had the head Asshole Customs agent in a white shirt in dallas(sanchez i think) point his finger at me and scream "i don't care if you are in a goddamn wheelchair it's your ass you smuggler. You might as well tell us where it is."He took my dr. license and then tried to keep it and when i asked for it back he threw it at me. He even frisked the K*D pushing my wheelchair. Gave me shit for about 30 minutes and i never let him get me riled. They want to get you mad so they can keep you off your flight.. In Houston they even felt inside my mouth. Piss them off etc and get the finger wave.

This is so damn ridiculous. Can't something be done about this?? Are you other guys getting stopped because you have a conviction of some sort or just because you are a male travelling alone frequently? And I mean, the first agent yesterday said wow, you sure travel to Asia a lot. What is a lot? I've gone about twice a year for 5 years and all over Asia...and not even primarily for the girls. I mean, Angkor Wat area in Cambodia has to be the most fascinating place in the world!! And there are millions who go there every year!!

I guess it's because those turds can't afford to go places, probably pisses 'em off,too...

Patriot act..........get used to it,it will never be reversed...you could get your record annulled but what's the point,(1) they are already flagging you and (2)ICE can pull any file they want,regardless.....they will probaly pull you over just as much in the future,so as much as it hurt's..yes sir,no sir to questions, and do not offer information just answer questions as politely as you can....it happen's to me,so i can relate to your predicament.....

another thread suggested CR customs, upon entry into SJO, was checking with INTERPOL on every non Tico. If this suggestion is indeed fact, and INTERPOL has been contacted relative to your entry into SJO, trust me, your passport number is now listed with INTERPOL and you can pretty much expect the 4th degree when re-entering the USA.

further, clarifing....I do not believe the author of this thread was referring to the screening by TSA when you're entering the boarding area of any flight inside the USA; rather, the author is referring to interrogation by Customs and Border Patrol following your presentation of your passport upon re-entry into the USA; different group of snoopers and far more thorough.

just wanted to thank everyone for your input. Any other advice is appreciated. I guess the advice is basically:

1. Be polite
2. Answer the questions ( since everything done was legal)
3. One doesn't have to say something like " I screwed 25 women in 10 days" but many... I met friends and we hung out
4. Take into consideration that if you are arriving back in the USA and have a connecting flight that you may need 3 hours in between connections to allow for the 1.5 hours or so of secondary screening hassle.
5. Although things like notes and even photos of legal age women are ok, it's probably better to just get rid of everything you can so there's less questioning, etc. (i.e. ...why have maps of massage parlors or numbers of women, or notes re: women, etc if you can just as easily keep them in your contacts via emai account, etc.)
6. if they ask why you trave so much to Asia or CR, just say you have a lot of vacation and like to get away.

I guess bottom line, don't let them scare you away from travelling and enjoying the scenery!!! ;

Did I miss anything??

Thanks, again.

My first trip to MDE I was on the list before I even hit the good ol' USA.

The first agent was a real bzz cut a-hole. He took my passport, and told me to wait for the officer. After about twenty minutes the officer comes up. We go and get my bags and he walks me over to another part of the airport, the whole time asking me vague questions. It was late a night and I was tired, but kept a a good attitude about the whole thing. finally he says, "You sure are taking this good, most people don't". I told him that I understood that he had a job to do, and that I had done nothing worng, so when he was done wether it took an hour or four hours, I was going home. He was searching my bag, and forgot my shaving kit. I picked it up and said, "You forgot this". He said no problem, and didn't check it. He then opened up a zippered pocket and out pops about ten rubbers. He looks up at me, and I tell him "I guess I was over optimistic". He just smiled, and asked me if I had ever been to PI, or SEA. I told him no, other than Viet Nam. He smiled as said he thought I should try it, he was there in the Marines.

After he finished and was typing into the computer I asked him, "Are you going to put me on the good guy list now"? He said yes he would. I don't know if he did or not, but I have not been secondaried again.

IMO, getting short with these folks will get you nowhere. Kill them with kindness, as hard as that may be.

As a side note, coming back from TJ on of the officers asked me if I had another ID. He had my passport, and took my dirvers license and held them both up to my face. He then siad, "You may want to get another passport and picture. This one does not even look like you and is just plain ugly" I laughed and told him it was taken when I was still married.

health & happiness to all.............

I live in Costa Rica. I feel more freedom here. I hate the direction that the USA has gone towards. It is no longer the "land of the free". There is more government intrusion into the lives of the average American on a daily basis than I am subjected to here in a year. I can't change what is happening in the USA, I gave up and left. Everyone feels what is happening, resents it, but puts up with it because fighting will get the full weight of the government thrown at you. The Constitution was thrown out the window when they enacted the Homeland Security Act. You are not protected against unwarranted search and seizure. They need no probable cause to search you, they search everyone. The probable cause is you wish to travel on public transportation. What they are doing makes as much sense as putting scanning machines in front of your house and making you submit to a search before you walk down the sidewalk or drive your car out of the garage. 1984 is here. Big Brother is watching you. The technology exists where they can monitor every step you make. The only thing they can't completely control is how you think and they work everyday to overcome this obstacle. What brother Redfield went through is just the start. It will get worse. It has gotten worse everyday of our lives. I am paranoid and pessimistic. I hold no hope that things will improve in the USA. The government of Costa Rica is no better than that of the USA. Given the chance they will intrude into the lives of their citizens. The difference is they have not achieved the degree of efficiency that the American government possesses. One of our forefathers said something to the effect that "Governments that governs least, governs best". Good luck, Americans, I'm afraid we all will need it.

+1, you snatched the words right out of my mouth Pops!

I just tell them I have a long term, long-distance girlfriend in CR and we love to get together when we can. It always seems to work well.

I used to fly twice a week, every week. Even though I was a 100,000 + miles a year flier, for several months I was secondarily screened each time I went to the airport. It did not matter which airport, always secondary screening.

After a couple of months of constant, what I considered to be harassment, I formally demanded from the airline and the authorities to explain why I was always being screened a second time. They may have been blowing smoke up my kilt but they told me that my profile (height, weight, name, etc) fit someone they wanted. Most important for me is the secondary screening stopped.
