Kumar, zona blue/Havana whatever, new fantasy ( Gringo/tico pricing) Idem's (short lived) price rise to $82, newly remodeled Pirates Club, and Hotel Presidente "dress code" come quickly to mind... shadows of what they were at one time plus NEVER realized potential of what they COULD have become...

One good thing this whole sordid, squalid episode has done is unite the Brotherhood (those who post and those that don't) in an unprecedented way. Thats all I needed. They are ass out now. I was planning to visit in march. Not now. That is BS. They could have been more professional about what they wanted to do busnesswise and thier differences on how that they wanted to run their sneaky styled operations i.e. double booking and exchange rate ripoffs. Now that they have been exposed I am quite sure they will go the way of belly up! I will tell anyone who will hear me that the Dunn in is a clip joint!

I was unaware of this news since I am not a regular poster anymore but my close friend, Don Papi, informed me of it as we spoke today.

I for one also support you and your future in CR. You certainly have the skills and personality to overcome this sadistic owner's decision and ridiculous charge.

I've seen it a number of times with gringos and other nationalities being discarded after times of hard work and service. There is a strange mentality when it comes to operations in Latino countries. I have never understood it but for some reason the culture below the border makes irrational business decisions. Previous posters have pointed them out like my friend Pidd.

Personally, I was going to retire in CR before 2005 but with the legal system "What Latino attorney could you trust" or what "safe" business could you invest in or Hello, how good is the deed to my property...I found it to be a risk I was not about to take.

Vegas Bob and a number of others learned that just renting and investing nothing there was the proper way to go. But that was for ones that retired and had no desire to work there. You want to work and do what you are good at along with perhaps creating a nest egg and that is fine. Just beware of the trolls out there. I'm sure you are.

Anyway, I TRIED to stay at the DI, before I heard you left, but the front desk is chaos and I could not get a room; so I went back to the SL. Gee, poor me. Anyway, I used to stay at the clarion all the time when Nixon was there; I liked it, so I am open to coming back with you on the scene. Best of luck to you, see you very soon. Bat.
