C'mon Herb, from the previous threads on this subject I think it has been determined that unless you are a religious fanatic it pretty much SUCKS! 8)

I think he was looking for an update from Ground Zero currently as he cancelled his trip to go next week instead!

Any reports from the trenches will be appreciated.

Latinoheat69,

I understand that. I cancelled my trip for this week to the next week because of the information I received at this forum. My intentions are to document first hand reports from those who are in SJ during Semama Santa. Hopefully the responses can be a sticky for newbies, like me, and vets for next year. It cost me $180 to change my dates for visiting CR. Had I been informed of Semana Santa I would have never booked for that week. With some first hand accounts it might possibly save someone of this disaster week next year. As you mention, if you follow the threads I was not the only one to be unaware of Semana Santa.

Just came from downtown - What normally takes me 15 Min. by car, took 5. Guess everyone is at the beach. If you don't like crowds, San Jose is the place to be. Starting tomorrow afternoon, the town will go dry for 54 hours - till Sat. Am.
Casino at marazan will close Thurs and Fri. Others have adjusted hours.
Will report more tomorrow.
Chow,
LVSteve

If you drink, load up before you get here. Taxi drivers can get you what yo want but at a premium. Head to the beach and stay out of SJ unless you want to really take it easy. It becomes a ghost town.

last night i spent 3 hours at ZB.... it's pretty cool when your the only guy around and you have 12 chickies all wanting your attention.. bought everyone cokes and spent 2 hours mixing and just hanging before I attended with michelle again.. she is such a sweetie.. the look on her face when I decided to get a session and picked her from the crowd

I know everyone sais semana santa is terrible here but I'm having a blast.

zb may be having a BBQ thursday..

I can't wait until they open up the hotel upstairs... just spoke with isable and she said that they begin construction on some sort of new cigar bar here in 3 weeks...

pura vida gentlemen

Please let us know if they are having that BBQ on Thursday. If you could provide the time, I'd appreciate it.

Looking at the Blue Marlin webcam all looks normal as of 8 AM San Jose time Wednesday morning March 23. Be interesting to look again at 12:01 PM. :?:

Yeah, I bet you were enjoying yourself. You were the only guy in there for the full 3 hours.

Went through the Del Rey around noon and there were a fairly good number of chicas in the bar area. A few looked better than your typical day shift girl. If I didn't have a 1pm date, I would have been tempted. 8)

I suspect they were trying to get some last minute action before things close down.
