Policia Migracion, OIJ, Policia Municipal, Fuerza Publica and more, hit everywhere it seems last night. Girls were being checked and all clients, gringos and ticos, were having their IDs called into Interpol.

Can confirm raids at Hollywoods, Tango India, Le Grillon, HDR and I'm sure a ton more places. Large coordinated effort here, I'm surprised not to see anything about it.

What were the results? Arrests? Closures? Or was it just m ore harassment? Were cameras (typically Channel 7) there?

Didn't see any cameras at the 4 places I drove by. I heard that Hollywood had 2 und***ge customers.

I guess it pays to go low rent. No raids at VIPs, Margaritas, Arcadas or Molino Rojo.

CV,
Could they have been feeding on raw chicken somewhere else?? :?: :?:
Maybe the "street monkeys" grew wings and flew away :?: :?:
Could be one of the "servers" burped and was throwing out some analomies??
Just wondering :D :?:

I've only experienced one raid at the DR (and I didn't even know it). Must have been in 2002 or so. I was sitting in the lower bar area, across from the Monkey Bar. About 11:00 I noticed the place had cleared out all of a sudden, and the door was 'blocked off'. I just sat there and wondered what was going on. After about half an hour, the chicas started to return, and it was business as usual. I think many of the chicas went to the KL. I have never carried a copy of the stamped passport page in 12 years going to CR. I carry a copy of the photo/address page, but that's it.

That has a way of catching up with you.

You have your address on your passport? What happens if you move? :?

Ditto...talked with a gringo who spent 4 days in immigration jail. Not a nice place. But hey, they feed you gallo pinto and rice and beans.

Interpol? You sure about that?

I doubt it too. If this was Interpol related, they would have had a description of the person they were looking for and thus would not need to check everyone. Check the most likely suspects and move on....

Foreigners were definitely being called into Interpol. I heard it myself and confirmed it.

Thanks. Interpol is NOT a "group" of regular guys. It's NOT a good idea to have your name and/or Passport number mentioned to the "group". Sets off all kinds of alarms and the "birds" start snooping. Is that what caused them dish motors to whir? I dunno....*shrug*
