The restaurant officially opened last Saturday night January 22nd and we ate there that night. The food is quite good. The breaded corvina was excellent -- moist inside, crispy outside, and delicious -- I would say on par with the Hotel Europa, which I think was my previous best for that dish in San Jose. The Tenderloin Gorgonzola was very, very good. The sauce was exquisite, but though the meat was delicious, I had to take a few points off because it wasn't as tender as it should have been.
Service is excellent -- very attentive. Asta and Carole from the Sportsmens' are there, by the way. The surroundings are very nice -- it reminded me of a lot of late '70's Manhattan restaurants -- lots of brick and glass. The problem with those restaurants was that they tended to be very noisy when crowded. But the Dunn Inn restaurant had lots of space between tables, and a very high ceiling, so it probably won't be too much of a problem.
I toured two of the deluxe rooms. The beds looked excellent, and the other furniture was good. It will be a comfortable place -- spacious, with desks (I tend to work a bit over the weekends, so that was important for me), and the wifi reached inside the rooms. There were big LCD TVs as well in the rooms. Bathrooms looked fine.
I spoke to management for a while. I think they will be very eager to please their guests. I have a reservation in February, and fully expect to enjoy my stay.
