Thanks for the two cents! It all adds up!

I agree it's in the eye of the beholder. Personally I don't mind girls up to 40, and I love curves. And besides I want some Latina experiences! The argentine scene didn't do anything for me. I've heard Medellin has a booming scene.

I'm really looking at either DR, CR or Venezuela. or I can get a decent priced flight back to Thailand from Dallas, but that would be a last resort!

What would be the 'better' places you speak of?

Are you sure you want to go to Venezuela? Your chances of being robbed are very good there.

Yes I am Ting Tong Mak Mak! (I have 4-6 overseas holidays a year too, which further backs that up)

You will for sure have a good time in CR or the DR, but if you are in Pattaya between 3/24 & 4/14, let me know.

I've been to SEA about 10 times. I always enjoy it, but after my last trip to Pattaya (I've gone all over SEA) I got back and was actually a little bored with the "sameness" of it all. I've never been to CR so on Feb. 8 I'm flying down from San Francisco for a week. I don't haver super high excpectations, but for half the flight cost, less wear and tear getting there and back, and the chance to experience a whole different country ( I always love the cultural stuff and tourist stuff, too wherever I go) I thought CR would ge a fun diversion for 7 days. For less than half the money (as I usually go to SEA for 10 to 17 days) I'm sure I'll have fun. Hell, if there were NO cute women, I'd probably still have a blast...just not as good of a blast.

That's as good a reason as any for a seasoned monger to travel to CR  . Don't set your expectations too high... and who knows... you may have a good time! :)

Venezuela - Caution!!

Was there about 2 years ago. Chavez has apparently put the screws to the exchange rate in an effort to keep foreigners out. Here's my experience:

Cab ride, airport to hotel - 20 - 25 minutes. $120.
Cab ride - 3 - 5 blocks (minimum) - $18
Hotel - $360 / nt. (Marriott, but I used points)
Fajita in the mall, for lunch, no sides, no drink, for one person - $63
Hard Rock Cafe pin (normally $8 - $12) - $50. Sorry, Ch*ld, you can just do without...

It ain't the Caracas of 10 years ago.

Please visit for a few weeks & report back. BTW, there are black market options for cambio but when they see a gringo they see problems. And quite frankly, the difference wasn't that much.

But the chicas are really hot.....

Dude, IMNSHO, the current scene has been off the chain lately. Full parade in force.

Tough to compare to Thailand where most of the girls have AIDS and ladyboys run rampant. Crime is rampant there also.

Have to agree with that, lots of drunk knuckleheads at the DR these days. I don't even go in there anymore. Its a good scene for a tourist in for the weekend.
