With the exception of an occasional slice of pizza at the window for lunch,I haven't eaten dinner at this CRT former favorite Italian restaurant for a long time. Sitting alone at the DR last night,I got a craving for the "Don Gordo" special. For those who haven't been around these boards for a while this is chicken palmesan. The restaurant has been cleaned up a bit,and was full last night at around 7pm. Just as I remember from 2-3 years ago,the size of the portions of chicken palm and spaghetti were huge and tasty. I guess some members still remember the place because I said hello to Irish Drifter and a couple of his friends on my way out.

No,it's just down the street from the DR. Walk down the street to central and turn left.Cross the street and walk till you see the place. There are always people eating pizza at the window.

After being 1 of my fav joints for a few years I'm afraid to return. I got very ill eating a slice of pizza there which knocked me out of mongering action for an evening. Also during my last sit down meal there, the bugs crawling on the walls & jumping out of wingman's menu were not particulary appetizing.

Never had the pleasure of dining inside, but have sampled the pizza slices once or twice. The pizza is OK, but I've tasted better.

I've always enjoyed the Don Gordo Special there. Huge portions indeed! I can never finish it, in fact. Too bad that upstairs mens room is so filthy...one of the worst in San Jose.

This place has always been a favorite but the roaches were out of control. If they've solved that challenge then ... maybe.

I ate their Monday night and did not see a roach or any other kind of bug. They have really cleaned up the first floor dining area but the bano is absolutely atrocious.
