Many of you guys know Asta, who used to be the manager at the SL Bar, then ran the bar and restaurant at La Amistad.
She has opened a great new sports bar/restaurant at the Dunn Inn and it's getting good reviews.
Stop by for a cerveza and wish Asta buena suerte at her new place.

Great place, went there Friday. Cavernous bar restaurant, 4 bartenders including Astra. Well planned and executed.

Oops, I went by last Sun. but forgot to ask her about the sugar cube inventory. Very nice place, watched the first half of the game on all the flat-screens and enjoyed lunch while trying to picture BKtuna working in a black dress. :)

Gratuitous Dunn Inn New thread #45,672 this month.

Don't get me wrong, With the Sportsmans Lodge at capacity most of the time, and Boyd being one of the 'realest' CRT goodfellas running the place, IT is a GREAT addition to neighborhood, but a new Dunn Inn thread every day ?

never mind I'm dunn thinking about this, I wont hit submit, na f it.

I agree, but SL has had 1000x the exposure on this board, so until the newness wears out, this is what we will get. Except for Superbowl weekend I am sure that Boyd, et. al. will still be sweating over sales volume for the foreseeable future.

Everyone just wants to be noticed by Boyd...
How long have the gratuitous posts for SL been going on? Ever since Day 1  : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4816

Stopped by last night for dinner and a few glasses of wine. Beautiful place, they did a nice job. The menu is expensive and why is it in dollars? I guess because it is designed for newby gringos. Nothing wrong with that but to survive in CR you need to bring the Ticos in.

I had the carib chicken for 10$ . It was almost inedible, terrible. A joke. The wine was great although it was 6$ a glass.

Chubbs has way better food and it is far cheaper. Chubbs has really brought the Ticos in to survive, so much so it is hard to get a seat there most nights.

I give the new place a yr tops as there are only so many gringos coming . Wait until june , july etc....

Good luck to them they will need it.

^ With the current state of events surrounding the DI, I give them six months... Especially after your review of the food and prices, not even mentioning the big tuna conundrum...

" most of the girls down here, lie as a self defense mechanism and to not have to face the truth, thinking most men couldn't accept them knowing the whole truth. Simpler, they may just want men to think they are as perfect as they want to appear to them, trying to hide what they consider to be the ugly truth about themselves. And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."

I agree most items are overpriced. On the other hand I've had the chicken sandwich or cheeseburger w/fries - 7.00, sopa de pollo is like 5.00, plata del dia about 6.00 and the lasagna - 8.00 which are not out of line.
