Well, I checked the site for quite a while , but am still not sure about a hotel in Jaco. I will most likely only stay one night as a break from the 7 nights on my first rip to San Jose. From what I read being close to the Beatle Bar would be good. Also, can you provide pros and cons and also a contact web site, #, etc. and if it's necessary to book in advance for a probably Friday or Saturday night stay on February 11th and/or 12th..

Thanks...

Unless things have changed best western is a bad idea if you plan on visiting beatle bar. I tried hooking up with a "civilian" and they would not let me in :? I have stayed at the Hotel Poseidon and it was good. Rooms are modern, decent pool, and a nice restaurant/bar on site. As for chica friendly, it is not an issue but it felt like you needed to be a bit more low key about it compared to the SL or HDR.

I stayed at Clairitas in September. Nice bar and restaurant, right on the beach. The rooms where small, beds low and too soft. A/C could not keep up with the poor insulation. I'm heading back in January but I think I stay at the Poseidon this time.

There is a new, soon to be sponsor, option, Hotel 9. They are located on the south beach side. It is a short cab ride to the center of town. But it is a very nice hotel, on the beach, quiet side, great food. Next to private houses on the beach! Prices are good. No guest fees. Probably nicest section of beach in Jaco! Check them out: hotelnine.com. And no, I don't work there. Just friends with them.

I have stayed at Hotel Nine a great number of times.

The owner and staff understand how to treat a guest. The rooms are very nice, very clean, modern and 99% of the times everything works or they make it right. Mini bar in each room.

There are also two suites that are very nice and give you what feels like your own private patio area.

The food and hotel bar a very good, not cheap, but wide selection of liqours and well prepared meals.

Pool area is large for a 10-12 room hotel. Have had some very nice parties in that pool from time to time. Its loctaion on the beach is quiet and a little nicer than other areas. Its distance down the beach does make it an "always" cab ride but I never found that an issue.

If I go to Jaco it is the only place I will stay. I cant say enough good things about the place.

The Copa's been mentioned many times; here's something on Canciones by Brother Jacoret:
