Although I am not a newbie to the "game", I am a newbie to the "CR game". Is it possible that a Tica has a cellphone that she is not able to text outside of CR or even call outside of CR??? I am not dumb or naive about these things, but I just wanted to ask some CR vets about this. Thanks.

She should be able to text; don't know the actual costs to do so but I've been successful with both my US-based iPhone and my Motorola Razr with the pre-paid cards. I've also had many texts not make it and some arrive quite late. I just got a new post-pay (normal) number so we'll see how that goes next time. Had to get it in my amante's name.....they don't trust gringos without the permanent visa.

With regards to calling the US it costs about $0.30 per minute (C150) and ALL ticas are anal about NOT calling ANYONE. They'll talk forever when you call because it's your dime (the receiving party doesn't pay).

Yes, it is possible that she only has a "national" line that does not allow her to place calls or send text messages outside CR. She can change it to an "international" line that allows calls/text worldwide. Cost for the service is minimal but some prefer not to have it to avoid high bills.

My landline and cell line are both national. I have no need to have an international line as the only calls I place outside CR are to the states and I have a VOIP service for that.

Let's see if I understand this--this woman can't send RFM's outside CR via text or voice and you want to know why? Did I miss something?--because email works just fine for those or so I've been told.

Not sure what a "rfm" is, but yes, emails have been sent by her, and received by me on my computer. I was just wondering about the phone service options that are available down there.

RFM = Request for Money

Usually the reason why a working girl wants to stay in contact with a customer... Nothing specific to CR and takes place from putas all over the world... This is the primary reason I don't keep in contact with pros after I return home from a mongering trip...
