Just by the 5 off it would not work in CR ?
Ah....the pursuit of knowledge and science....indeed a most higher calling:
YES....the difference between 1800mhz and 1805mhz is HUGE. It is NOT "current"...it is the frequency of the trasnmit unit. It would be like trying to listen to a radio station you know is 1800 on the dial...but you got the dial set to 1805. Ya think you're going to hear anything from that radio if you've got the dial set to 1805? I do not believe you will hear the radio station you want; if there is a station on 1805, you'll hear that. Too, CDMA and aspects of TDMA are cellular technologies that have little use any more, for the most part (... TDMA
Before we can go any further though, I should note that there are actually three different flavors of TDMA in the PCS market. Each of these technologies implements TDMA in a slightly different way. The most complex implementation is, without a doubt, GSM. It overlays the basic TDMA principles with many innovations that reduce the potential problems inherent in the system.
http://www.arcx.com/sites/cdmavstdma.htm ). (Focus on GSM to make it easier on yourself.) They ARE used throughout the globe and even in Costa Rica to an extent, by the masses, as I recall.....I forget. That oufit is selecting to muck around in at 1805mhz due to DCS technology (don't worry about it; it's boring for most; has to do with PRIVATE "cell phone" frequencies.....Yes some of us utilize our own PRIVATE, dedicated cell phone networks...globally....there is a LOT of stuff floating around the ether anymore....)..... Bluntly, the item being listed is a toy, really. However, it DOES work...but it is intended for crowded rooms or not so crowded rooms...not to go through VOBB (concrete blocks), steel, wood, etc. etc. It is essentially a hand held transmitter.....which is 1/2 of what a cell phone is: A cell phone is, essentially a transceiver. Disrupt an entire hotel structure? Not going to happen. Take out the open dining area? (head nodddinggggg....)
I understand the desire for one that will work anywhere....and with such a desire comes cost. Compromise...travel with 2 or 3 of the little darlings.....save money. Up to you. Hypothetically speaking, of course. The more powerful the transmitting the unit, the greater it's ability to penetrate "stuff"....and to travel distance. We are pretty much moving over to the laws of physics and that's just not something that can be discussed very well (let alone "taught") on an internet message board.
http://www.fuzing.com/vli/002456326263/ ... r-KPE8818- here is a one from a company I "play with". It will not do what you want, but you can read a little bit more in detail about what it can do and give you a better idea, maybe. Note: "....the manufacturing process strictly follows ISO9001 quality system....". ISO9001 is a good thing. It pretty much means there are international standards in play during the production process. "Widely used:
1. Conference room, autitoriums, law court, library, exam room, school, cinema, theater, and hospital, etc.
2. Oil Station, gas filled station, oil field, oil depot, etc.
3. At places where using mobile phone is prohibited such as government, military, finance, security, police and command center, etc."
You sure you want to play around with this stuff? We're all grown men and make our own decisions.
In the infamous words of Roberto "No Mas." I need to get back to dissecting this copier hard driveSSS I've acquired.....
