Here I am, packing a bag for my trip to SJO this Wednesday, and what poops up?

http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/11/05/1 ... ragua.html

I'm hoping this thing can be straightened out through the OAS or whatever before it becomes an even bigger controversy than the previous FoxNews post. Does anyone on the ground in SJO land have inside info on how this is really going to play out?

(I was thinking about booking a whitewater rafting trip but I'm going to have to double check exactly where this outing would take place. Also, does anyone know where that picture of the topless Ticas posing with the shotguns and single shot, bolt action rifles is on this website? I can't seem to find it. It's labeled Costa Rican National Guard.)

Any insight on this matter would be appreciated. TNX.

Do not worry!
That river is not one that you would go rafting in... rather remote area
As for the pic, I have seen it, try the funny pic's section

Definitely not a big deal. The rio San Juan which is where the dispute is is not near any of the whitewater rafting rivers so that is not a problem. The recent enormous amount of rainfall however should make rafting a real adventure. As far as the conflict itself there will be a lot of posturing by both sides but there will be shooting so don't let that worry you.

The picture of the "CR National Guard" is available on Don Gordo's website http://www.dongordo.com/

Thanks for the info and for the link to Don Gordo's, I thought I had seen the CR Nat'l. Guard picture around here on this website. I'll be sure to pack a shovel. It'll be good for that damn river or for the sh!t that's bound to ooze from it.

Since we just had an e(l)ection here in The States, today's quote is from that classic: Bullworth - :o

Angry black woman: Are you sayin' the Democratic Party don't care about the African-American community?
Bullworth: Isn't that OBVIOUS? You got half your K*ds are out of work and the other half are in jail. Do you see ANY Democrat doing anything about it? Certainly not me! So what're you gonna do, vote Republican? Come on! Come on, you're not gonna vote Republican! Let's call a spade a spade!
[Loud, angry booing]
Bullworth: I mean - come on! You can have a Billion Man March! If you don't put down that malt liquor and chicken wings, and get behind someone other than a running back who stabs his wife, you're NEVER gonna get rid of somebody like me!
