The Copacabana is $200 a night and up for January. Seems a bit steep for CR. I just want to veg out on a lounge with my honey. I'm thinking about Jaco, but a mile or 2 north or south is OK too. The Poseidon is off the beach and no good pics on the web to figure out what it looks like.

Any suggestions?

Here's some links to the mentioned venues:
Clarita's--downscale and raucous
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=34978&p=390992&hilit=clarita's#p390992
Poseidon--much better--get in touch with Thirdworld on this venue--he's our contact there
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34619&hilit=poseidon&start=0
Cocal--hotel splits the quality difference between the above 2 venues--Vista Mar condos seem to be the way to go

This may be stating the obvious but the US economy is so in-the-toilet still and the CR tourist economy so dependent on it, that there may well be hotel/restaurant deals offered as the High Season goes on. I believe we have at least as great bargaining power as we've had the last 2 years.
