Brian Ross Confronts A Fugitive In Costa Rica To Air Tonight On ABC

Don't forget to watch tonight's airing on ABC's 20/20 "Brian Ross Confronts A Fugitive", the report from Brian Ross tracking down Andreas Leimer, an American fugitive living under Costa Rica citizenship in San José, to ask about his role in scamming seniors out of millions. Leimer is alleged to have taken part in a massive phone scam exploiting the good name of "Make-A-Wish Foundation" that siphoned more than us$20 million dollars from unsuspecting Americans.

 Interesting......On TV at the same time as the 20/20 program this evening, DATELINE NBC did a story about a fugitive expat living in Panama, who murdered 5 people [all of them other expats living in Panama] while running real estate scams in Panama. He fled north through Costa Rica and was captured at the Nicaraguan border.

"....the wanted and the unwanted." :P

This happened in the complex (Lajolla in Belen) where I had a house until late 2008. Most in the complex knew for several years that he was a fugitive and were in contact with the US authorities trying to get the guy arrested. The jackass actually installed a 120ft guyed communications tower on the top of his house and anchored it to his roof!!  He then put some 6ft microwave dishes on it and the Belen government told him at least a year ago to take it down. Hiding in plain sight. It's my friend and former neighbor's black Mercedes that Leimer ran into trying to get away from the reporter. Tico law enforcement say they can't send him back to the US since he married a Tica and has CR citizenship. Muy Tico.

And we wonder why the CR government and law enforcement think so poorly of us gringos. :?

that was a sickening thing to watch. scumbags of the first degree. when the evidence is so overwhelming its hard to understand why any country would want that kind of filth. there just has to be exceptions.
those neighbors looked like righteous people.

Thats horrible. My mom always said , " If you don't have anything nice to say then remain quiet, And don't murder people too."

Don't forget Russell Winstead. He was probably the most infamous of all of them with the exception of Vesco. Russell stabed his aunt who was 80 years old, 86 tomes. Before the US authorities grabbed him coming out of the Horseshoe on night,he was on the FBIs 10 most wanted list with his picture right under Bin Laden.
