And not just newbies either. This is owed entirely to Brother BKTuna and his gentle-but-firm hands-on style (I know he's blushing when reading this). There is only one stumbling block to that venue being a total experience, which I'm pledged not to reveal. Not to be coy but stuff said in confidence, I take seriously. BOTTOM LINE: the Dunn Inn will only get better--and soon, and it's not all due to the region-class facility being built next door.

I have a great driver for you guys. I tried to call a couple of the recommended guys and got no answer from several. One called back, but it was a little too late so I give him credit for effort. And another one had something going on already.

Our guy Luis Araya was excellent. His english is perfect, so he makes a great translator. He is personable and drives a good and comfortbale SUV. He charged us only $120 to Jaco and back in the pouring ass rain this afternoon. Not a single complaint from him. We will be using him again tomorrow.

He runs his own transport business. It is www.ticorides.com

Good first post. We haven't had an addition here in awhile.

A good driver for around town and going to the airport is "Sergio Morillo". He works at the Dunn Inn. Speaks a little english and is very friendly and reliable. He took me from Dunn Inn to Idem a couple of times for only 1000c and to the airport for $20.

Is Sergio the one with problem on his right eye? if it is then he is one of the best drivers I know from my last trip.

I do not know about his eye but if he was one of the drivers at the Dunn Inn then he is probably the same guy.

Sergio is a great guy personally, solid family man who's also in our world, shows more zest for living than an unfortunate number of Chicas I've washed ashore with, a solid guy.
BTW, he lost his hands-free rig for his cellphone--I know it's asking alot but if somebody going down in the next month, find out from Brother BKTuna what phone he has, get that rig to him--and I'll PayPal double the cost to you. O/W I'll do it myself later this year--Sergio's that solid a guy. Like a rock--with humor. This is not a joke.

Sergio is the guy to use. I used him a number of time for trips around San Jose. He has a good friend, Diego. I needed a cab ride to Jaco for fishing and Sergio was not able to take us but he had his friend Diego meet us at the Dunn (my wingman & I) and take us to Jaco. It was a great road trip (about 2 hours on the new highway), Diego had his girlfriend come on the trip with us to help translate. She was very nice and his cab is clean and dependable, we stopped on the way and picked up some cerveza's and arrived in Jaco well lubricated. You can contact Diego thru Sergio at the Dunn Inn. I highly recommend both. Sergio picked us up the following day on time in Jaco after a great day fishing. We caught 2 sailfish and one marlin. Each cab ride was $100 us.

If you plan on using Interbus do not trust their web site or availability.
The site says, "Availability is guaranteed with 48-hour advance notice," but it only lets you book 4 days or more in advance.
I went round and round with them trying to book 3 days in advance and could not.
I even called them in San Jose and they said they had no room.
So book several days in advance.

They used to allow you to book earlier than 4 days but looks like they have changed their policy. Also last year they charged me $9.50 but now I see they charge $11.40 from airport to hotel.

There is another company at www.shuttlebuscr.com that also offers service for $12 but I do not know how they work. Also I do not think they accept Paypal.

Brother Isra123's mention while a valuable addition to our knowledge base is not to be confused with this: http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/ which is an Interbus agent and does take PayPal.

Good clarification. I was assuming that Frank was talking about Interbus that took paypal but wanted booking at least 4 days in advance. So I mentioned this other shuttlebus company.

I've used a guy named Victor several times on trips to Jaco and also airport rides. He has a really nice van and would usually have an ice chest with some cerveza. Very nice guy. We would even schedule him to pick us back up in Jaco and he would charge the same price about $90. Even helped us find a great beach house for about $160 a night. Highly recommend this guy.

Victor Pondler is his name and he is a GREAT guy!! He won't come to pick up only 1 person as he lives in Limón and it is probably too far and too much gas for just one person but if you have 3-4 guys chipping in, he is solid on pick up and delivery. Here is his contact info if you need it. victorpondler@hotmail.com Phone number is 506-8-305-9933. Aqua aka pete
