As many of you may know, today we have lost the comraderie of a long standing member of the CRT family, Locohombre formerly Squidface.

Unfortunately his unruly behavior forced the hand of the powers that be, and thus he is involuntarily no longer with us. Admin1 has exhibited a trememdous amount of restraint and afforded us a generous amount of latitutude in regard to some of the antics and shenanaigans on this board. Unfortunately comrade Locohombre tested the limits one too many times and, well, he's gone.

I will miss him of because I enjoyed bantering with him, and pushing his buttons and playing with his head....but of course i respect the decisions of the powers that be.

I had the opportunity to meet this brother in person only once, and he was a dapper young man, successful in business, but like many of us, was searching for something in latin america we were missing in the states. He was cut from the same cloth.

I wish him well on his future journeys and hope he learns from this unfortunate experience...

We once took the same Taca flight to CR once (though we didn't speak much since I was in biz class ). He seemed like a normal enough guy, it surprised me when the antics started.

What Brother Orange said...I'd heard the same from other Brothers. Online vs. in-person was Jekyll and Hyde with this guy. I'd personally welcome him back if he would moderate his comments--this from one of his favorite targets. It doesn't pay to be a hater--wasteful use of psychic energy, to my mind.

I have to agree with R4M, while I'm sure he was a nice guy in person, his board antics became very annoying. I think he wanted to pick up where Florida left off, but he was a pale wannabe. I got tired of his dredging up long-dead threads for no other reason than the sake of dredging them up and adding some useless inane comment. Not to mention constantly badgering ID in seemingly every thread, if that was supposed to be some running joke then he ran it into the ground.

I met him in SJO 2 or 3 years ago, and he seemed like a normal enough guy. Actually, after meeting him in person, I was real surprised at his demeanor on this board. Seemed like the total opposite. I never had a problem with him, but a lot of his antics on the board (IMHO) were getting a little old. And I agree that Admin1 gave him a LOT of latitude, but he might have pushed the envelope one too many times. Regardless, I got a feelin' that he'll be back soon, using a different handle, and the cycle will continue. We shall see.......

He didn't bother me too much in the past, but recently he and his alter egos seemed to be on a tear. Probably because he knew he'd soon be banned. I'm not sure if that was for a specific incident or general trolling. However, it's not like he's the only troll here

Too bad there wasn't a way of preventing him and the other trolls from posting anywhere but Smack Talk. And a one week time out for those who mentioned him/them outside of Smack Talk. That would be too much work for any moderator, so I understand that things had to play out like this.

Never met the guy. It seems like he just kind of took things too personally and that caused him to lose his head and go on the attack towards others. I wish him well.

I liked him but I think diluting some of the informative threads was not a good idea. Yes he was a hound dog on ID, but let's not forget Jazzbo too. In some ways, I think when we lost Florida it hurt him, a lot. I hope to meet him in CR sometime.

And yes Nh, you better be careful. I got my computer set for "auto-PM-Admin1".

And I was gonna announce he won the baby naming contest for Boyd's little girl, Deanise. I guess I'll have to keep the prize as I seem to win everything. LH would have wanted it that way!!

Yeah, what is up with that? I have heard that several times from board members lately... So and so is a great guy in person, don't know why they are like this on the board. Not referring to LH in particular, but some on the board in general. Could be some offbeat humor but I wonder if some members take meds or are in need of meds... Not saying this in a mean spirited way, just makes me curious sometimes.
