Would a Verizon Droid x or 2 work in CR? I just ordered one and would love to be able to use it while there. Since it has Skype Mobile I was thinking it would.

skype will work just need WIFI.
I used skype on my ITOUCH last time strictly WIFI when your in CR. Droids have WIFI so u should be good.

I have a DroidX and while some of the features will work on the WiFi or GPS signals in Costa Rica, the ones that will not work are the phone, txt or SKYPE. The Skype for iPhone will work on WiFi in Costa Rica, but for some reason the SKYPE app that works on the Droid will only work on the Verizon data network, which of course is unavailable in Costa Rica. I tried deleting and downloading the app direct from SKYPE, but it still worked the same way.

I have also been unable to reply to text messages that I receive from cellphones in Costa Rica. It looks like they were sent, but they are not received in Costa Rica.

Thanks for the help guys. It is crazy the Skype app on the droid x does not work on wifi. I guess I will bring my old iphone down there and just use that.
