I'm here in Managua and last night went to a movie entitled "El Ultimo Commandante" at the Metrocentro Mall ($3.50pp). It won an award at a Spanish film festival over the summer. The story is about a Nicaraguan military commander who feigned his death in a skirmish in the 1980's war and crossed the Rio San Juan to live clandestinely in Costa Rica as a dance teacher. Found it very entertaining as an insight into the latino and centro-american life and culture we are all fascinated by. Lots of street shots of San Jose. Recommended.
