Yea, yea....I only post in a rare moment. Just curious if anybody has been eaten by bedbugs in the hotels of SJ. Just another reason for me not to reside in the city hotels if true. I found them in a hotel in Florida hotel earlier this year. After wards I emptied my overnight bag and washed the contents, then left the bag and my current clothes in the dumpster. Full cup of bleach and washing of the clothes I wore back.....including shoes.

This is a big problem that has come back to haunt us.

Let me know if you have had a problem since I will soon be making a journey to CR.

Just in the nick of time comes this report on a convention of bedbug fighters (there's also a video at this site):
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 27310.html

And if that fails, there's this solution:

I haven't heard of anyone encountering bedbugs in SJ. NYC on the other hand.... Isn't life so much more wonderful when you get to live a little "closer to nature"?

"Save the planet", and stop using effective insecticides.

"Save the planet" some more, and don't use hot water to clean bed linens. Cold water doesn't get the sheets as clean, not to mention doesn't kill anything that might be ON the sheets, but it's for Holy Mother Gaia. Hallelujah!

Excellent post--just the right tone. Now excuse me while I go hug a tree...

I ran into an entire squad of bedbugs at your place.... the Circus Cardboard Inn. What a low life trash heap you run. I would be ashamed. I now stay at PacoLoco's place when in SJO... The River Sewage Chalet just under the bridge when coming from the airport. It's a hell of an improvement over your dump!

I doubt that UV light is going to kill bedbugs.

Doesn't kill'em, but sure will find the little bastards. C*m and bloodstains too, maybe a little TMI for someone who expects to sleep in CR.

Interesting Chico123, I had forgotten about blue bulb inspection. But I have doubts on it's effectiveness.

The MLB-12 black light is perhaps the best to observe unwanted critters.

It's a two edge sword. If you use it you will certainly find things that make your wary of sleeping in that bed....but if you report it to the management...most would not respond. God help you if you shine it on the top cover spread. Then you would see a whole world of microbes/critters roaming all over your bed for the night. Not just in CR but just about everywhere in the world.

If you want to keep your sanity...please do not take this light in the bathroom at Costa Del Sol restaurant....You may have have nightmares for years to come. The microbes/critters will probably eat you and the light.

Shit, I think I need to stay at home. I have a true bonding with the microbes/critters in my pitiful abode. At least they are residents and don't bite as badly.

Great to see you posting Circus. I will be headed to CR soon after quite a while for me and will likely find out if Nuevo Johson is safe from the critters.rbc100

I agree with Brother Circus 100+% on this--and I'm speaking as one who lives in a 40+ year old trailer. Knowledge is power, true, but that can be the power to scare the bejesus out of you, with no recourse. I'm all about blissful ignorance with powerful antibiotics close at hand, thank you very much.
