For those of you that have not had the pleasure of a private tour of the Casino under construction at the Dunn Inn, you may not realize what is coming. This casino will be a very beautiful, upscale facility with approximately 1/2 of the floor space as the common areas of the Del Rey with an occupant capacity of approximately 120 persons. The floor design will encourage circulation around the casino with vantage points for scoping out the action.

The owners of the Dunn are not sparing expenses to make this a lavish and exciting place to go. They have savvy strategies to insure its success. For one, they are planning on enticing chicas to come with offers of free food and drinks (most of these girls come with little money and are always hungry). I believe I remember Boyd saying they would have entertainment. They are also planning to have adequate and organized security in place and easy ingress and egress along the street. This will be a nice change of pace from the gauntlet of scum one must endure when entering or exiting the Del Rey. Boyd spoke to me about some of the marketing strategies and I believe they have an well designed plan for ensuring success of the place. Of course, the CRT membership will have a great part to play in this success.

It is my belief that the Del Ray has had their enormous success from being first to market and building their brand. But, there is plenty of room for competition and there will be those like the Dunn Inn (and Boyd) who can and will capture a significant share of that market.

Boyd showed me and a few other CRT'ers around in August and Yes ,it does look to be a great place to reside and visit. The casino will really be nice and I for 1 cannot wait to visit in November and January to see the finished product.

hard to say. i think they have a challenge with the location. didn't the clarion already fail with a somewhat similar game plan right across the street?

I hope you're wrong about the possibility of failure. IMO, it seems like this new venue will be kind-of-like a combination of a HDR / KL / SL all under one roof.

- Cameraderie and atmosphere of SL.
- Live music and dancing like at the KL.
- Casino onsite and chica availability like the HDR.

Personally, I hope it's a HUGE success!

what I like is BK is running the place ....also if it isn't working he is man enough to fix it .....will there be growing pains .....sure , my feelings ...he understands the casino part of the business ...he understands the food and bev part of the business .....he know what we like when it comes to the hotel rooms that we like and the "service most of us are happy with (I think he learned something when the sportmens didn't have the best service staff) the hard part to get right and the part we want the most ...is the girls ...which one's get to come in...which one's you keep out .....who is watching them ? do the people who are working at the lobby know what is going to be happening with this semi working girl hotel turns into a full monger type hotel .....I mean lets face it ...they are in for a big change ...they came banging on my hotel door when I had seinfeld playing to loud at 2am one time (what if that was my girl making that noise ...I would of been pissed) I hope it works as I want new life in this town ....

CHILI, our business is already over 60% CRT and we expect that to go up dramatically. The owners have decided to fully push towards the CRT/Adult male traveller model. There are working girls in and out of here all day already. as to attracting girls and monitoring them we believe we have a good plan in place. I will personally be on the floor monitoring things at least five nights a week until closing. We beleive many of the girsl are looking for an laternative to DR/KL also. The trick is a critical mass of girls and guys.
