I have been coming to SL as a patron of the bar for a long time. It is a nice scene and tica friendly... but it sucks as a hotel.

It is 12:30 AM right now, and I cannot sleep for the 4th night in the row because the bartenders like to jabber and cackle long after the bar is closed. I asked security if they can ask people to try to keep it down, and he could care less. In fact, if he was even a little responsive I wouldn't be writing this post.

I would rather be woken up by the train at La Amistad then never be able to get to sleep in the first place at SL.

The beds are also very uncomfortable and "continental breakfast" is poor at best.

If you can sleep in a noisy environment, and this doesn't bother you... then good for you. I know people will disagree with me... and you have every right to... but people should know what they are in for before booking a room here.

There are several other options available that are Tica friendly. I can guarantee you all that I will never stay here again.

Gotta say, I would have had a talk with Bill before making a post like this advising people not to stay at his hotel...

I am quite sure he and his staff would have done their best to try and resolve your issues.. Security has one job, which they do very well. Customer service issues should only be brought to the attention of management and ownership.

If this were me, I would have walked out and just asked them nicely to keep it down. The bar staff work extremely hard and have to close the bar, count money, etc. only AFTER the bar has closed at Midnight.

I have stayed at SL over 20 times, including the rooms near the bar. While I agree i would never stay in those rooms again, I certainly will stay in SL again. There are several rooms (actually most) that you will not hear a peep from the bar area.

Again, I would have taken a different approach on this..

I think in all fairness, one experience is inadequate for such a harsh judgment. I recently stayed 6 nights in the Leopardo, in the mansion wing, (August), and totally enjoyed my trip.

In fact, there was little need to go anywhere else. Good food..nice chicas,...excellent bar... :)

personally, i am very comfortable at SL and the staff goes out of their way to make my stay enjoyable.
i was a pres patron until they made things tougher, and have been staying at SL for the last couple of years.
recently, i was there in june and again in august and have my reservations in place for november and february.
sorry dude, but SL is a great place to stay. my only complaint is that too many chicas know me from previous trips and expect a repeat, sucks to be me!
i guess the bottom line is to each their own, WOO-WOO!

Ok... in all fairness, I will say that I am in a courtyard room. If you want to take from this post that you should avoid the courtyard at all costs, then take that away from this post. I haven't stayed in any of the other wings, so I cannot comment on them. If you say they are great, I have no reason to doubt you.

I was extremely frustrated last night, and that is why I made this post.

I do also want to take this opportunity to thank the fuksticks who decided to have an hour long conversation between 3 AM and 4 AM about how to get a tica to let you take her culo. Not only did you keep me awake, but you also showed me and the adjacent rooms that you have the mongering skills of an infant.

When you hear someone in the room you are talking next to say "SHHHHHH", you should probably move the conversation elsewhere or speak quietly. Lowering your voice for a minute, before returning to your full, loud voice really isn't cool. These guys were probably drunk, and that is exactly why security should be conscious of this.

I understand that people come back to the hotel drunk... but SL could avoid negative feedback like this by having their security by the door ask people to keep their voices down after midnight. I am not talking about people having quiet conversations in the courtyard. I am talking about people being clearly inconsiderate of the guests in the rooms that they are standing next to. I am not complaining about noise when the bar is open. But I do think it is reasonable to request to not have people screaming/singing outside my door/window after midnight.

Why would you be sleeping at 12:30am instead of phucking?

I like hanging out at SL & the food, chicas, etc. But I will never stay there either, this is one of the reasons why.

I like the price of those rooms ...I just dont like those rooms....noise ...I am the last to sleep and the first one up .....so it didnt matter to me ....but I just think a few of those rooms could use a upgrade ...I love the sportmens as I will be staying twice with in 40 days of each other. If you talk to Bill or anyone else that is part of the lobby crew ...my bet it would be fix asap....last trip ac was leaking ...they put me in a better room for the same price.....told them it was smelling ...next day I see them tearing into the wall.....

I just booked the Amistad room at SL. It's in the Clubhouse section. If you turn right at the front desk Then directly at the end of the hall is the room. It's gotta couch. :) . Also away from the main bar area. Spend the extra $20 and get a better room.

I think that it means that since this site is CRT that the hotel allows said ticas to visit his room with no problem or fee. Since most of the working girl in sjo are ticas, I have no problem with his reference. You, as always, want to make an issue of it.

btw, after 20+ visits to sjo I stayed at the SL for the 1st time 2 weeks ago & had a great time. I had a room in the modern area which was good for my needs & quiet, the crt discount of 20% made my total room cost about $80, Bill was an excellent host, asking me various times throughout the week about my room, how my stay was etc., & he hired so many employees it was impossible to go 5 minutes without being asked if you need anything. I'm a guy who usually likes to stay close to, but not on top of the action, & don't want to be part of a frat-house atmosphere, but I would stay here again. I'm not a tln'er, so my fav aspect of the hotel was girls drifting in in the morn btwn 9-11am who could help you take care of those morning urges.
