I was looking for some stuff to do while in Costa Rica since this is my first trip, and I don't want it all to be about the chicas, so I was browsing around the VIP discounts and seen ATV Costa Rica special

Anyone know if they recently raised their rates? Website says 15 dollar discount for booking online, but their all day tour is 130, NOT 115 as the promotion above indicates. If they have raised their rates, than you arent really getting a discount anymore.Something the staff on here might be interested in knowing.

2nd of all, anyone try them. If so, is there anything you did not like?

Info current as of about a year ago:

Cary is a decent fellow - Dutch I believe & a former professional ATV rider.

He charged us $100 (for both of us) for the all-day trip which included lunch. We went maybe 3 times over the course of a year; my novia had never had this experience before. Unfortunately/fortunately, since my novia is a Tica she had zero experience driving or riding bicycles so she was unable to operate the ATV by herself. That put us in a tandem position on a larger ATV which we both fully enjoyed. It also brought our price down considerably, which I enjoyed.

Cary was very fair with us & we would return.

HOWEVER.....this is geared towards the tourists. My ATV riding was zero the first trip but I am quite adept with dirt bikes. The 'Course" is very nice, very pretty and decidedly geared towards tourists. Skilled riders will be bored.

If you are a motocross rider, this ATV tour will be like a pony ride for you. Its guided, on established dirt roads. Nothing to get too excited about.

The Zip lines are GREAT fun. Got to do it at least once!

There are several places in Jaco that rent 125cc - 250cc Honda dirt bikes... I'm planning on doing the same next month when there, but don't care for riding on hard-pack playing follow the leader... May ask for info on more challenging trails to take, but also may need to pay a guide to go along as I don't have a wingman this trip and don't want to blaze a trail alone...

Cary is defininitly geared for the tourist. I took my two teenage girls and they both rode with some nice young guy. I had my own. I would have to slow down and then catch up to have fun. Cary is a good guy. The mountians are great. The views are good. And I rode around on the trails in a coffe plantaion so that was a plus also.

Glad to hear this recent info about Paraiso Tours. Last year there had been a Thread about his ATV's having some maintenance issues. I took his tour about 2-3 years ago and as a total amateur, had a great time.
