Report from today's paper

Tom Brady involved in car accident

Updated at 9:56 a.m.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was involved in a car accident early this morning in Boston's Back Bay section.

Brady, 33, declined treatment, according to WEEI-AM Radio, at the scene (see WHDH video here) and headed for Gillette Stadium.

The two-car accident, which occurred at about 6:34 a.m., involved an Audi sedan driven by Brady, law enforcement sources told the Boston Globe, and a minivan. A passenger in the van was unconscious, removed via the jaws of live and taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, police said. Sources tell WHDH-TV that the minivan ran a red light and struck Brady's car at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Gloucester Street.

Hanna LeStrange, who was staying nearby, told the Globe that she went to the scene after hearing the crash.

"It was just really high-impact, you could tell. The front of the Audi was off," she said. "[Brady] was sort of bent over, looked completely shaken up. He got up and just started wiping his jeans," she said.

Another witness told the Globe that Brady "looked a little shook up, shaking his hands." He went into an ambulance and a few minutes later was picked up by someone in a Jeep Cherokee and drove off. WEEI reported that Brady was believed to be seeing New England Patriots medical personnel.

"It took us a few minutes to realize it was him," the witness, who declined to be identified, told the Globe.

The witness' co-worker, who also declined to identify herself to the Globe, said of the passenger who was hospitalized: "He was pretty bad. He was lying in the back of the van," she said.

Brady was heading to the stadium to continue preparations for the Patriots' season opener Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals when the accident occurred

what a screwed up sat.....I went 0-3 on sat picks ...each game started out great (to the point I was saying why didnt I play them for real) but at the saying goes early winner /late loser .....maybe the nfl picks will get me to 500 for the weekend ....how my south fl bulls look so good in the 1st half then stink up the place in the 2nd half .....same with tenn ....I still hate LSU more than any team in the ncaa .....I also got killed betting on sat .....ncaa totals are a tough bet , I played san jose to score at least 3 points in the 1st half (nope they got shut out ....they missed a 25 yard fg with 1 minute left in the half ) then I played under 23 second half san jose and wis. needless to say they scored 24 (with san jose scoring 14) thats the way my day went (sorry I had to cry to somebody)
