Spirit has $36 each way plus taxes which comes to $192 total (they do have baggage fees). It's damn cheap though. It is only for Sept. I think the deal goes thru tonight. Not sure?

It's a system wide sale on Spirit flights. Similar deals from other cities that Spirit flies from. Returns at least as late as 10/2. Would be even better if others would match, so far I haven't seen any.

Nobody is matching as of yet from Chicago. After reading the fine print, the $36 fare is with the $9 club. But, I believe it is $99 otherwise.

It comes to $200 and some change without the $9 club which is about a $9 difference so you might as well join for future discounts.

I am looking for a R/T trip Chicago to SJO for the last week in Feb. I can't beleive how things are screwed up. I can't find anything close to a flight for the price I am used to paying--about $$$. Plus all flights have overnight layovers, except for one on the line you mention. By the way what kind of baggage fees are these a-holes charging? You know where I might find some better flights or lower prices?

It was about $30 per bag (each way), less if you join the $9 club (there will be a $3 increase by Feb, I believe). Then, as I was poking around with a reservation, there is a $10, select your seat in advance charge, each leg (or sit in the middle most likely). So, I figured about $100 additional. Spirit isn't good in Feb. Only AA at $425 but the schedule isn't good (sometimes the 5:40am get in at 1pm shows up or they price it $50 more). Continental has gotten a case of the Uniteditis (symptoms - overcharge). Keep an eye on US AIR. I have seen them sneak in at $400 total. Ever since CO/UA merger, it has gone up, everywhere. I am starting to check frequent flyer miles. I am planning on going in Feb, around the 17th. Everytime I talk to someone at the airlines, I imagine they look like Ben Stiller so I wanna say, "Hey Focker, what's going on here?" :D
