I stayed at the Holiday Inn, Dunn Inn, La Amistad, and the Sportsman's Lodge while in San Jose.

I can honestly say that the La Amistad was the best overall choice.

The hardwoods throughout La Amistad were beautiful, the beds were like clouds, and the set up was top notch. The only down fall was the internet issues. But everything good always has a downfall too.

As far as partying goes, the SL is the spot. Next time I go, I will stay at La Amistad M-TH then SL Fri-Mon.

I would stay again at the Holiday Inn, if I wasn't mongering as everything was top notch.

Also, I would not stay again at Dunn Inn until they finish construction. The noise, the water problems, the no existent phone service, and the internet issues were unacceptable.

I have to agree here. La Amistad is my first choice. The Internet issue is easy to solve; just ask for an Ethernet cord at the front desk (they are 10-12 feet long).

However, for my visit last week I wanted to save some money and try out new venues. I definitely liked Castillo. This place is older but has a very cool vibe. I loved the outdoor bar area. With CRT green season discounts I was only paying $30 something a night.

I also got to try out Dunn INN. Yes, the construction noise sucked (will be completed very soon). Yes, the walls are thin. However, the Tiki bar and staff there are first rate. Its a great place to be during a heavy rain storm! Also, the Dunn INN casino WILL BE the next great venue in San Jose. This place is going to be fabulous :!: :!: :!: :!: The place will be visually stunning and Boyd will be doing the right things to attract the chicas to come (free food and drinks for chicas). Trust me when I say, you will be spending a lot of time there. Although not as big, they will definitely be making a dent in the traffic at the Del Rey.
