I don't know what your definition of 'recent' is, but they have had burgers at Outback since it opened about 4 years ago. I guess some people might consider that 'recent'?

Years ago someone tried to establish a "look a like" of another LA style hamburger stand -- Tommy's with its chili cheese burgers. "What to do with all that goo?"

It wasn't successful but at that time (around 20 years ago) fast food wasn't the rage it is today.

I wonder if an IN-N-OUT knock off would do well here.

There is one, it is in Belen. Its called 'in-n-go', and is a total knock-off. Never tried it, but a friend who lives in the area says its pretty good.

Interesting. I almost never go that far west. Is it in a prominent location?

If you are taking that route to the airport, it is right at the fork in the road after you turn right at the light and go up the hill. Its on the right hand side of the road, right at the fork where one way goes to cariari and the other continues on to the airport.

Outback is in Plaza Itskazu right on the main hghway which is in Escazu. They like all Outbacks have burgers. Plaza Itskazu has about 15 or so dining options including Hooters, Mas Tequlia, a Spanish Place, and many others.

Saw on the news in the US last night that Consumers Report has named the two best hamburgers (tied) in the US: IN-N-OUT and Five Guys.

For me, the best burger in Costa Rica is IN-N-OUT located at Dean Martin and Trop in Las Vegas. Yes, it is in north CR, and just a wee bit of a commute.

Sounds like a plan, Brother DiegoC--can we use your FF miles to get there? Between you and Brother Srilm, you have to have a bazillion of them.

MiSala over in Escazu (Paco) has a pretty good burger on it's revamped menu. Topped with gorgonzola cheese IIRC. Cafe Panino also has a pretty good burger using imported beef. Finally, Time Out (also in Escazu) has a pretty good burger.
