I would appreciate any suggestions for a non addictive/non narcotic sleep aid from the local pharmacias in San Jose.

Ambien (non-addictive?) is sold under the name Stilnox in CR. It is a controlled medicine here, so will require a prescription which you can usually get for a few thousand colones more at the pharmacy. By law, they are not supposed to sell you more than a 30 day supply per prescription; although many things are possible, they have been stricter about this in the last few years.

Plain ol' Benadryl, or the generic diphenhydramine hydrochloride, works wonders. One or two tabs helps. It doesn't make you sleep, but it lets you sleep. It does make some people drowsy, so I don't recommend it in the daytime, although I have friends who take it for allergies even when working.

Zopiclona 7.5 mg is readily available at almost any pharmacy, without a prescription, here for about 400-500 colon a pill. Usually come in bubble wraps of 10 or a box of 30 or you can buy individually.

I don't know any of the names I have gotten here, but I always just go to the doctor in a Fischell pharmacy and get them to give me something. Have had pretty decent luck.

If I ever felt bad here in the ol USA, I would ask my mexicana novia's mother, "what you got in your purse, I don't feel good".

She would give me a pill and fixed what ever was bothering me. She ain't no doc! :?

I have trouble with insomnia sometimes and have found some natural things that work quite well. Tryptophan powder is great for putting you down at night. Also the herb kava is excellent. Mix the two and it's off to dreamland.

Ambien fast release, not the controlled release. Works great when I'm traveling, have taken it when I consumed booze, no problems.( a few drinks, not blasted)

I do like this one. Can I get a CR Doctor to prescribe (and maybe deliver)?
