What's the best way to back up your pics, music, files?

I have about 25GB right now. Right now, I'm using a 32 gb USB flash drive.

Any better options (not necessarily cheaper)?

You could buy an external hard drive (or get an enclosure and regular hard drive to put in there). I use an external USB enclosure that I plugged a 500GB drive into, that should be a suitable medium. Then it depends on what kind of backup I want. If I want a drive backup that is truly portable then there is the free software DIXML which will do a complete or partial backup of a drive. If you have the money to buy software then Acronis is a good option for a complete drive to drive copy.

An external, portable hard drive is of course a good idea. For important files though, it never hurts to have them backed up in more than one place. You could copy them onto DVD + or - Rs, each of which can hold 4.7 gigs of data. The disks are also cheap these days, about 20 cents each if you buy a pack of 50 or 100. Disks can degrade over time though, so some suggest recopying onto new media disks every few years. If by chance you have an older computer without a DVD writer, these can be had for about $20 these days. The internal ones that is, and they are simple to install. External units can be had for around $35.

Just get a second USB flash drive.
Load both, keep them in separate places.

If you want them without worrying about a physical device I would suggest an offsite service. Most backup without you having to even bother with them. Mozy and Jungle Disk are two I have used. I can also recommend Dropbox as well which I use. Orange, when I have given you stuff for download it came from Dropbox.

This is a service I have not used yet but its getting outstanding reviews within IT circles, http://www.nomadesk.com/download/ and its very reasonable. I am thinking about getting it for my photography stuff.

Another cloud-based storage solution: Windows SkyDrive. Same concept as Dropbox, but instead of 2 GBs they give you 25 GB of storage space. Enough for all of Spanky's gay porn collection, with space left over for my pictures of his wife (*).

Question... are the online sites secure and trustworthy? To access the info, all you need is a password, correct? I have some non-public info on my hard drive that if were made public would get me and my company into some shit with the feds. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Which is the most secure? Cost isn't that much of an issue.

They all use encryption in their backup algorithms. If someone desperately wants your files there isn't anything you can do to stop them so I would not really worry about it. Just take reasonable precautions.
