when does the rain die down?

Hell of a rain storm right now....1251 CR time....thunder and downpour...

It was incredible in the morning; beautiful sunny warm day with a nice breeze. Around 11:30 AM (east of San Jose) it began to cloud up and by noon the rain began to fall. By 12:30 PM it was raining really hard. It stopped around 3:30 PM with only scattered showers here and there.

That is kind of a pattern unless there is a storm coming up the Atlantic. CR doesn't get brunt of the storm, but if you look at the satellite photos and see those outstreach fingers of the strom swirling around -- well, there is a lot of H20 in those seemingly whispy coulds.
