WTF is going on in CR? Is the country going to shit?

Yeah, I just read this article in the paper, and got on CRT to see if someone had posted the article. What the phuck ?!? I may have to reconsider changing my "usual" seat in the lobby bar area! Plus, it injured one of the security guards. This type of news is not good!

Geez guys get a grip! It was an isolated incident no different then what happens in most cities in the world. I read the Miami Herald online every day and it is an unusual day when there is not a story about a drive by shooting usually resulting in a fatality.

Well the obvious difference is that we can avoid bad areas with stray bullets flying around in the states but down there most all of us spend at least some time sitting inside those lobby doors.

Kind of reminds me of the days when I was a titty bar bouncer.. It can be a Friday night packed like a motherfucker and nothing go wrong. Then on some idle Tuesday night there's 7 guys in the place and 3 want trouble

Another obvious solution is the same as you advocate following in the states. Avoid the area were "stray bullets are flying around". Of course seeing how infrequently this has happened in the gulch that is analogous to advising people not to take a plane to CR because, even though it is rare, plane crashes due occur. However if you are that fearful there are a lot of venues outside the area around the HDR where one might engage in the hobby.

It is well known that I dislike the DR, but in general their security is very good and the number of incidents in their very low for the size and operating hours.

This is certainly undocumented BUT one of my taxi guys who hangs out at the DR told me he was at home at the time of the shooting,but the other guys told him it was a Colombiano who shot through the glass doors and hit a security guard. The rest of the facts from Easy and BKTuna appear to be what he was told on the street.
