I've never done the 5 hour energy, but isn't it just concentrated Red Bull??? I'm going to bring some 5 hour energy just to do my own experiment and give a review.
The two are NOT the same. Red Bull and the like are mostly just a lot sugar and caffeine, 5 Hour is basically a Niacin shot. I've used 5 Hour before, most notably when I drove from El Paso to San Diego overnight nonstop, was always alert and never once got sleepy; like the claim says, there is no "crash". I first heard about it from sports radio talk guy Steve Czaban.

what was the occasion HT, the price of 5 hour seems a tad bit out of your price range

as an aside, did you consume any stimulants when you did the Hike Of Dimes for Florida

One Labor Day weekend, I went down to El Paso to visit my brother and his family there, but on that occasion they were going to drive to the San Diego area to visit my nephew (who was in the Marines). I decided to go along since I had never been to SD before. So after driving to El Paso, timing my arrival there on the same evening they would head out, turned out to be only a couple of hours later. We headed out at 9:00pm El Paso time, my brother and sister-in-law shared driving duties in their car, and I was by myself. I knew I needed something to make that drive, and so used 5 Hour Energy for the first time. Only needed two bottles, plus my XM radio and CD's, for the 12-hour drive. That stuff works

No, not for the Hike of Dimes.
